Welcome!
Today: Being and doing what God wants
Passage: Gen 3, Judges 9
8 And they heard the sound of the LORD God walking in the garden in the cool of the day, and Adam and his wife hid themselves from the presence of the LORD God among the trees of the garden.
9 Then the LORD God called to Adam and said to him, “Where are you?” (Gen 3: 8-9, NIV 84)
When God came to Eden He was looking for His host Adam, but the host was “missing”. So God called upon him and asked Adam, “Where are you?”
You think God didn’t know where Adam was?
God knew it better than Adam himself; it was Adam who didn’t know where he exactly was!
God never forces anybody-even Adam! God had all the right to just get to Adam without Adam’s permission, but He didn’t!
When Isaiah had that vision of heaven, God only asked, “Who will go for us?” (Isaiah 6) Isaiah answered, “I will”
In the book of Revelation (3:20), we see God knocking at the door of the Church. He will not even walk into our Church, unless we let Him!
God waits for our “yes”. He respects our privacy and rights that we only received from Him! Do we respect others like that?
If we are waiting for a “strong” call from God before we can do anything for Him, that may never happen, or it may be too late
We are His children, not slaves; it is up to us to know the desire/will of the father and do it. We know how to take care of our home, kids and all that!
On the other hand, there are many, who “jumped” into places God didn’t want them to, and are now struggling
There is this beautiful illustration in the Bible, about how the trees once wanted to get a “King” for themselves (read Judges 9 for the background)
8 One day the trees went out to anoint a king for themselves. They said to the olive tree, ‘Be our king.’ 9 “But the olive tree answered, ‘Should I give up my oil, by which both gods and men are honored, to hold sway over the trees?’ 10 “Next, the trees said to the fig tree, ‘Come and be our king.’ 11 “But the fig tree replied, ‘Should I give up my fruit, so good and sweet, to hold sway over the trees?’ 12 “Then the trees said to the vine, ‘Come and be our king.’ 13 “But the vine answered, ‘Should I give up my wine, which cheers both gods and men, to hold sway over the trees?’ 14 “Finally all the trees said to the thornbush, ‘Come and be our king.’ 15 “The thornbush said to the trees, ‘If you really want to anoint me king over you, come and take refuge in my shade; but if not, then let fire come out of the thornbush and consume the cedars of Lebanon!’ (Judges 9, NIV 84)
We better know what God has called us for, and do just what He has called us for. Otherwise, we will end up in confusion and despair
God bless your day, as you walk in His anointing!

Prayer: Lord Jesus, we thank you for each day. As people in various parts of the world are living in fear, I thank you for all that you have given us O Lord. Help me to do that which you have entrusted to me. Amen
