Know God first; then the “enemy”

Welcome!

Passage:  Ephesians 6

Today: Know God first; then the enemy

10 A final word: Be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. 11 Put on all of God’s armor so that you will be able to stand firm against all strategies of the devil. 12 For we[c] are not fighting against flesh-and-blood enemies, but against evil rulers and authorities of the unseen world, against mighty powers in this dark world, and against evil spirits in the heavenly places. (Eph 6, NLT)

Life involves struggles, no matter what, when and where you are

The word of God mentions that very clearly; it is the devil’s attempt to tell us there is nothing like that, but God wants us to know the truth

If something is going on in a person and he/she does not know that, it is not good; the earlier that person knows it, it may be better, so that he/she can do something about it. God wants us to know and deal with the fact that there is an adversary

But we are not to spend our lives thinking always about our adversary; we are to think about and thank God more than that.

Paul speaks in the Lord, “be strong in the Lord and His might power”

Once we are connected to God, it is important to stay connected and draw from Him!

We can be connected completely, little or more; if a bad conductor is used in a wire that passes electricity, only less will flow. All believers are not connected to God the same way because many don’t want “too much of God” in their lives!

We want to be “independent”; but we can’t go too far like that; we need each other and we need God, more than anybody else!

God is not in the business of enforcing Himself on us; in fact God is the last person to do that, because that is how He created us; the right of choice is given to us; the one person who violates that the most, is the devil. He does not “knock” or ask permission. He comes straight in, if the door is left open, and unless we say “No”

However, if we are washed by the blood of the lamb, there is a “fear factor” for the devil; see how we are asked to “put on” the whole armor of God. When we put on that armor of GOD, devil will be scared to come too close. The “blood of the lamb” upon us and the armor of God keeps the devil away; they say “an apple a day keeps the doctor away”. These days, even apples are so contaminated that the opposite could be true unless we take steps before we eat them

The word of God is pure; that is another thing that keeps the devil away. Jesus used the word, to keep the devil away. Keeping it in the pocket won’t do that!

It is satan’s trick to disguise himself as “an angel of light” and come to the children of God/Churches. They will come in the form of preachers/prophets or pastors. Most people will not recognize them. When those with discernment recognize them and tell others, many will not agree. So, church/families gets spoiled by the wrong type of ministers,  who do/teach the wrong thing

The longer we hang around in a wrong/bad place, the more our chances to get hurt, individually or collectively. Some tourists go to certain places-not knowing the kind of people around, and get into dangers, because they were ignorant!

Let us stay connected and stay covered with His blood, word and the armor!

Have a blessed day!

Prayer: Lord Jesus, help me to have discernment and do things right; open my eyes to see what is in thy word for me, and also to see the works of the devil, so that I will not be in trouble. Help me stay covered by your blood, word and armor. Amen

If we are not covered, we will be cowards!
