Welcome!
Today: Filled with His Love and Power!
Passage: Acts 1
8 But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.” (Acts 1:8, NIV 84)-emphasis added
I was reading one of the latest books by Charles (Chuck) Swindoll, named “Embraced by the Spirit”
He mentions an incident years back, when he got a call from his daughters’ school about a serious accident that happened. They were practicing a “human pyramid” (people stand on top of each other and make a “pyramid”) suddenly the whole thing collapsed and Chuck’s daughter fell down hitting her head hard
As he was driving to the school, he was praying like never before
He received such a mighty strength to deal calmly, instead of going out of control! (I could identify myself with situation(s) somewhat like that…)
Even as she told him she had lost her sensation below her neck…..
He struggled to put together his sermon for the next Sunday…
The power of the Holy Spirit transforms us and makes us a totally different person!
Peter, who went out with his fishing net and boat even after walking with Jesus for over three years and seeing His death and resurrection, was totally transformed-in a moment, when the power of the Holy Spirit came upon him
The apostles themselves couldn’t believe the kind of miraculous work God was doing through them! (Acts 3, 4)
They did not give great publicity or take credit, but glorified God
Jesus didn’t tell them “Go to Harvard or Princeton and you will do great”!
Instead, He told them to wait in “His” presence, for His time
What God wants is that we spent some time with Him
He will teach us all we need
Your day will be brighter and better, if you can spend some time with Him, in the early morning; just try it!
If you have a major problem or a concern about somebody, just bring it to the Lord in prayer. It could be someone in your own family!
Leave the matter to God and take your hands off!
Let God finish His work in that person. If you let him to do that, He will!
God bless your day as you decide to wait in His presence for that baptism of His Power and Love!

Prayer: Lord Jesus, I thank you for your love for me and the promise of that great power. I need that badly because I cannot overcome the various struggles in my life, by myself. Thank you Lord. Amen.
