God of all goodness!

Welcome!

Passage: Ps 103 (NIV)

Today: God of all goodness!

7 The Lord your God has blessed you in all the work of your hands. He has watched over your journey through this vast wilderness. These forty years the Lord your God has been with you, and you have not lacked anything. (Deu 2, NIV)-emphasis added

These are the words of Moses to his people-the people of God, before they entered the promise-land

The fact that God was good to them all these forty years did not just make them a people of praise and thanks; instead, they were very much like most of us: grumbling, complaining and murmuring; no time to thank, praise or remember the works of God!

Yet, God provided all they asked, and even beyond that

I always see people who ignore what God has given them and worry about what they don’t have; (I have done that myself!)- forgetting all that God has given -the property/family/job etc., and dream about getting more/better; we fail to maintain the car/family/property we have, because we are looking for something better  to come from somewhere…!

God is just the opposite and that is how He wants us to be; He wants us to enjoy and take the best care of what we already have, so that He can bless us with better things

I know people who are never thankful about their family/children; such people hardly get chance to see the blessings of the future

I was just listening to a preacher the other day, who said that he has never seen a man who mistreats his wife/another person and loves himself;

those who treat others bad, hate themselves!

God has not given us the permission to hate anybody; if we want to do that, we need to obtain prior permission from God, because they are God’s creation, just as we are.

That doesn’t mean we should keep quiet when someone else does something wrong

15 “If your brother or sister[b] sins,[c] go and point out their fault, just between the two of you. If they listen to you, you have won them over. (Mat 18, NIV)-emphasis added

Some things in the Bible are little hard, like the one above. Most of us don’t have the guts to do that. The “gift” we have, is the gift of spreading the news around, instead of telling that person!

God has entrusted us with the responsibility to correct a wrong brother/sister in Christ, in humility and love!

6 Brothers and sisters, if someone is caught in a sin, you who live by the Spirit should restore that person gently. But watch yourselves, or you also may be tempted. 2 Carry each other’s burdens, and in this way you will fulfill the law of Christ. 3 If anyone thinks they are something when they are not, they deceive themselves. (Gal 6, NIV)-emphasis added

If we live by the spirit, we will love by the same spirit; there is no love without action.

If we want our brother/sister to become better, we will tell them if there’s “dirt” somewhere, so that others will not laugh at them
The same love should be manifested, when we get corrected; those who are not willing to accept correction, will never go/grow anywhere!

Have a blessed day!

Reflection: Do I forget all that God has given me, and complain about what I don’t have?

Prayer: 1 Praise the Lord, my soul; all my inmost being, praise his holy name. 2 Praise the Lord, my soul, and forget not all his benefits—3 who forgives all your (my) sins and heals all your (my) diseases, 4 who redeems your (my) life from the pit and crowns you (me) with love and compassion, 5 who satisfies your (my) desires with good things so that your (my) youth is renewed like the eagle’s. (Ps 103, NIV)-“my” added
