God is God-all the time!

Welcome!

Passage:  Psalm 86

Today: God is God-all the time!

1 Bend down, O Lord, and hear my prayer; answer me, for I need your help. 2 Protect me, for I am devoted to you.
Save me, for I serve you and trust you. You are my God. 3 Be merciful to me, O Lord, for I am calling on you constantly (Psalm 86, NLT)

David recognizes two things: who he is, and who his God is

He finds that God is one who can help, protect, save, and a merciful one, who hears and answers prayer

David also admits that he needs help, protection, and a response from God

David was devoted to God; so even if everything was against Him, and no matter what was going on in life, David would give God all the recognition, time and praise that is due to God, for God is God, all the time!

I wonder if we have different “Gods” at different times; we have one God inside the church, another outside and so on…!

We read, the head of every man is Christ and the head of a wife is her husband (1 Cor 11:3, ESV)

Head knows everything going on in every part of the body-whether it is in the feet, hand or anywhere; if a “foreign body” like a thorn or a sharp thing gets into your feet, immediately the head will know it

If Christ is the head of the man, He is the head of the family

Everything in our home must be acceptable to Him-every CD, computer, everything!

He knows what all we have in our homes and hearts!

He will know every “foreign thing” that gets in, and will try to send us an alarm!

If we ignore that alarm, then we will have to deal with it…!

If family is strong, church is strong, community is strong, nation is strong

If you cut a piece of Gold from a big one, it will be the same composition as the whole; the stronger that piece is, so is the whole

The stronger the family is, so is the nation!

If you see churches that are “dead”, no doubt, most families are also so

I have seen in certain spiritual meetings, when one person with some “life” says “Hallelujah”, people would look at him/her like a “strange” something….!?

But that person alone knows the joy he/she is enjoying, in the Lord!

If you have that joy, you cannot just contain it; it will come out!

2 Protect me, for I am devoted to you. Save me, for I serve you and trust you. You are my God. 3 Be merciful to me, O Lord, for I am calling on you constantly. 4 Give me happiness, O Lord, for I give myself to you. (Ps 86, NLT)

Spending some good time with God should make us happier than super bowl/ Grammy!

Let Christ fill every area of our life-every area; let Him have the keys/access

You can just trust Him; He won’t “ditch” you!

Give God all the praise you can, not just some of it!

Have a blessed day!

Prayer: 5 O Lord, you are so good, so ready to forgive, so full of unfailing love for all who ask for your help. 6 Listen closely to my prayer, O Lord; hear my urgent cry. 7 I will call to you whenever I’m in trouble, and you will answer me. 8 No pagan god is like you, O Lord. None can do what you do! (Ps 86, NLT)

Thank God, for He is God all the time, unchanging, loving, caring and protecting!
