When you speak!

Welcome!

Passage:  Psalm 86

Today: When you speak!

18 Don’t be drunk with wine, because that will ruin your life. Instead, be filled with the Holy Spirit, 19 singing psalms and hymns and spiritual songs among yourselves, and making music to the Lord in your hearts. 20 And give thanks for everything to God the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ. (Ephesians 5, NLT)-emphasis added

8 But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes upon you. And you will be my witnesses, telling people about me everywhere—in Jerusalem, throughout Judea, in Samaria, and to the ends of the earth (Acts 1, NLT)

4 And everyone present was filled with the Holy Spirit and began speaking in other languages,[b] as the Holy Spirit gave them this ability. (Acts 2, NLT)

One thing we see common in all three passages above, is that when the Holy Spirit came upon people, they started speaking

They spoke spiritual things to others, which would build them up

When the Spirit actually takes you over, you can’t just sit quiet; you will start doing something; you will speak/write/do acts of faith/wonders

As Peter and John were going to the temple after they had this experience that the Holy Spirit came upon them, they made the lame man get up and dance

When the Holy Spirit moves, the “unusual” will happen

People will react to it in many different ways; some would even say, “these people are drunk”. When people who have never seen such a thing say that, that is understandable; but when the very people in the church, who or their parents paid a price for this Holy Spirit, make fun of the people who are filled with the real Holy Spirit of God, it is dangerous!

When the true Holy Spirit comes upon a person, they will be speaking the real mysteries of the word of God; if someone has the Holy Spirit and speaks no word of God, we better be careful. Much harm has been done by people who simply say things to impress people, which is not from God

These days, Holy Spirit is prompting many people including you, to speak/write/do something. The longer you wait, the longer you will be missing some of God’s blessings, because God is working at the “end of end time” pace, I believe

Certain things are not good to do late; in such cases, it is “better
never, than late”

Sometimes, we may tell someone to start the car few minutes before we get out, in a cold, “freezing” weather; if they take five minutes to get to the car, it may be too late; we will get into the cold, “frozen” car, and “freeze” with it

(That is why they say, you have to preheat an oven before you put something in it)

There are things we have to do immediately as God says it, like in the military

When we delay to obey the promptings of the Spirit, some person may perish, and we will be accountable

May God help you discern the prompting of the Spirit and act upon it!

Have a blessed day!

Prayer: Lord, 2 But when I was silent and still, not even saying anything good, my anguish increased. 3 My heart grew hot within me, and as I meditated, the fire burned; then I spoke with my tongue: (Psalm 39, NIV 84)

Lord, help me to break my silence and speak to you first and then to others, Amen

The Lord spoke and things came into existence; many things don’t happen because you don’t speak words of hope and faith!
