Welcome!
Passage: Psalm 30 (NIV 84)
Today: When we feel too secure, to pray!
6 When I felt secure, I said, “I will never be shaken.” 7 Lord, when you favored me, you made my royal mountain[c] stand firm; but when you hid your face, I was dismayed. (Psalm 30, NIV 84)
These are the days of more prayer and vigil, for God’s children
Because the days are evil, we hear about killings, deaths, accidents etc., a lot!
When the devil is let loose, we hear more bad news!
In the church, the power of God and His word has been replaced by the power of the world; so, many people go to church and come back with more problems!
If the church wastes time pointing fingers at others instead of getting on our knees and crying, we will eventually pay a huge price!
All I hear is people blaming somebody for everything
That sounds like what Adam and Eve told God, after they sinned
12 The man said, “The woman you put here with me—she gave me some fruit from the tree, and I ate it.”
13 Then the Lord God said to the woman, “What is this you have done?” The woman said, “The serpent deceived me, and I ate.” (Gen 3, NIV 84)
The serpent-the devil is always around; but God has given us the freedom to choose to sin or not
The man and the woman blamed somebody else for their sin; if they had admitted their sin and confessed it, God would have saved them; but they chose to blame it on somebody, as we do most of the time; they lost a chance for restoration!
8 If we claim to be without sin, we deceive ourselves and the truth is not in us. 9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness. 10 If we claim we have not sinned, we make him out to be a liar and his word is not in us. (1 John 1, NIV 84)-emphasis added
Three major responses to sin is: “I am without sin”, or “I did not sin/what I did was no sin” or, the third & best response: “Lord, I sinned; please forgive me”
The prophets of the O.T took the people’s sin on themselves and confessed
Confession of sins bring healing to the spirit, soul and body!
As we read in pslam 30, we base our responses to God on our feelings!
When we feel secure because of the money and other things we have, we don’t care for what God cares; but one day, Lord will bring us to our knees somehow!
It would be better for us to kneel down on our own; if the Lord hides His face away from us for a moment, we are done!
That would be fatal!
Let us acknowledge the Lord as He deserves; we may lie to people and escape; but lying to God invites more danger, because He knows!
May the next year be an year of truth! (scary?)
Have a blessed day!

Prayer: Lord Jesus, thank you for your provision and protection, for without you, we don’t have them. Forgive us for lying to you and for disregarding the spiritual, emotional and physical needs of others; help us to be a blessing to others. Amen
