Blessed are those who mourn!

Welcome!

Passage:  Matthew 5 (NIV 84)

Today: Blessed are those who mourn!

20 I tell you the truth, you will weep and mourn while the world rejoices. You will grieve, but your grief will turn to joy. (John 16, NIV 84)  emphasis added

4 Blessed are those who mourn, for they will be comforted. (Mat 5, NIV 84)

As children of God, we are called to enjoy the peace that passeth all understanding, and to rejoice in the Lord always. We are not called to wear a sad, long face all the time

However, that does not mean that we can forget everything and just relax.

If you have a baby with you, and if you go for some kind of a party/celebration, you cannot forget the baby and enjoy; you will always be cautious of the baby

This is a season when you hear much about “baby Jesus”; but we should never forget that the real Jesus is with us, even in the midst of any entertainment!

As we live our everyday life and enjoy the good things in life, we cannot forget the realities of life-that this world is rushing to its end and that the coming of the Lord Jesus can happen any time!

There are people out there, struggling for various reasons-people who lost everything, people who had to evacuate their homes and are living in temporary shelters etc. While we thank God for what we have, we also better think of those who are less privileged. If we are healthy, remember there are people around us struggling with various medical conditions, and pray for them

These are the days we need to spent more time praying and weeping in the presence of God. The enemy is working 24/7 against the body of Christ, which is you and me. Things won’t just work with our casual prayers!

The principle of “sowing and reaping” works all the time; we reap what we sow!

If our praise and prayer life is broken, it is time to repair

The church today is handicapped because of not motivating people to pray, praise and to study the word of God. I was reading few passages the other day, where God highlighted the importance of “teaching” in the church

While people would just like to come and “see” the worship and go, it is important to use that opportunity to teach the word

We have to personally dedicate ourselves to more of God stuff, which will lead to lot of good stuff in our life. When we seek God’s things, He will provide us with all that we need.

It is time to put God first!

Have a blessed day!

Prayer: Lord Jesus, thank you for reminding me to pray and be cautious of the times. I know it is important to study your word more because I am ignorant of most of it. Help me to commit myself more to you and be a blessing. Amen

If we sacrifice some sleep for prayer now, we can sleep peacefully, later!
