Urgent! Call upon the name of the Lord!

Welcome!

Passage: Isaiah 62 (NIV 84); 2 Kings 2: 15-22 (NIV 84)

Today: Urgent! Call upon the name of the Lord!

I have posted watchmen on your walls, O Jerusalem; they will never be silent day or night. You who call on the Lord, give yourselves no rest, 7 and give him no rest till he establishes Jerusalem and makes her the praise of the earth. (Isaiah 62, NIV 84)-emphasis added

God spoke through Isaiah, about 700 BC,  about the exile that was on the way; however, God also promised that the exile was not for ever!

God loves His children. God does not delight in punishing them. Sometimes, we hear preachers preaching as if God doesn’t care about those who go to hell. When a person goes to hell, heaven is grieving. God does not delight in it!

The church of today has taken the grace of God to an extreme that some teach there is no hell, and that all will go to heaven regardless. On the day of judgement, they will see what will really happen. God goes by His word!

America is facing another presidential election. I could see preachers and others in ministry trying to endorse one or the other candidate. But the fact is that God expects church to do what it is supposed to do. If church in America had done its duty well, things would have been way better, way different from where it is now! It is time the “Luxury church” in America get off its “royal” throne and get on its knees. Otherwise, things will change to such an extent that church will be brought on its knees!

Today’s church does not not know the power God has vested in it; it also fails to sense the need and act. God must be like: “what in the world, these people are doing?”

In 2 kings 2, we read about prophet Elisha who comes to the town of Jericho

The first assignment he got, after Elijah ascended to heaven, was not sweet! The people of Jericho told him their problem. They knew, the mayor or chief of the town could not solve the problem, not even the high priest! They wanted to try Elisha. Elisha could have asked, “Me? What can I do about it?”;bBut he didn’t. He took upon the assignment

19 The men of the city said to Elisha, “Look, our lord, this town is well situated, as you can see, but the water is bad and the land is unproductive.” 20 “Bring me a new bowl,” he said, “and put salt in it.” So they brought it to him. 21 Then he went out to the spring and threw the salt into it, saying, “This is what the Lord says: ‘I have healed this water. Never again will it cause death or make the land unproductive.’” 22 And the water has remained wholesome to this day, according to the word Elisha had spoken. (2 Kings 2, NIV 84)

The solution to many problems the land is facing, is in the hands of the church; that is you and me!

But it looks like many churches  are sleeping with a “Do not disturb, Lord Jesus” sign on the outside. When He comes, Jesus won’t disturb them; promised!

You wake up! it is time to pray hard than any time before!

The land/nation you are living in, needs your prayer. That is why God has put you there. Just one incident can turn things upside down and take away all the freedom we have. When Israel did not respond to God’s warning about the exile, God had to let that happen!

Have a blessed day. You don’t forget to pray!

BG

Prayer: Lord Jesus, I know your coming is near. You have placed me in this nation, in this land, in this church, family, as a watchman/watchwoman. I need to take responsibility and pray, which I was not doing till now. So, help me God; Amen

Don’t ask, where are the “Elisha”s of God; the God of Elishah is here, and you are here!
