6 Then the Lord said to Cain, “Why are you angry? Why is your face downcast? 7 If you do what is right, will you not be accepted? But if you do not do what is right, sin is crouching at your door; it desires to have you, but you must master it.” (Gen 4, NIV 84)-emphasis added
When Adam and Eve had their sons, they must have been happy; when both went to worship God, they might have been happier.
But there was a problem; God was pleased with one and displeased with the other!
In those days, they could easily know which one God was pleased with
These days, if there was some way God would let us know after each worship service if God was pleased with it or not, there would have been much more problems and more “Cains
Cain just picked up some vegetables carelessly, while Abel brought the best of the best from what he had. Cain’s choice showed his attitude and Abel’s showed his attitude towards God and worship
Cain tried to hide his real nature/attitude and worshiped God. But soon after worship, the real “Cain” showed up!
Have you seen “Cains” showing up, soon after a worship service?
That means, throughout that worship service, they were sitting with that wrong attitude/revenge in mind. If such people are leading the worship, it is even worse. It is better to hand the leading to someone else, if a pastor is not able to lead a worship service with a clean heart, on a certain day. But then people would ask, “what happened?”.
It was soon after part-taking in the last supper that Judas Isacriot rushed to betray Jesus
God is more pleased with obedience, than just a sacrifice with unconfessed sins!
That is what prophet Samuel told king Saul when Saul hid the stuff from Amalekites against God’s command; Saul’s another failure was when he himself conducted a worship (sacrifice) which Samuel was supposed to conduct

Many of the curses are brought upon us by worshipping God wrong way, as we understand from God’s word
27 So then, whoever eats the bread or drinks the cup of the Lord in an unworthy manner will be guilty of sinning against the body and blood of the Lord. 28 Everyone ought to examine themselves before they eat of the bread and drink from the cup. 29 For those who eat and drink without discerning the body of Christ eat and drink judgment on themselves. 30 That is why many among you are weak and sick, and a number of you have fallen asleep. (1 Cor 11, NIV)
The earlier we understand the way and the word of God, the better it is

Prayer: Lord Jesus, I admit that there had been times when I worshipped/took communion with unconfessed sins. I am sorry Lord. Please save me from punishment, I pray. Help me to have a lifestyle of worship, that pleases you. Amen
