Scared of God’s coming?

Welcome!

Passage:  Genesis 3 (NIV 84)

Today: Scared of God’s coming? (Back to basics-3)

8 Then the man and his wife heard the sound of the Lord God as he was walking in the garden in the cool of the day, and they hid from the Lord God among the trees of the garden. 9 But the Lord God called to the man, “Where are you?” 10 He answered, “I heard you in the garden, and I was afraid because I was naked; so I hid.” (Gen 3, NIV 84)-emphasis added

When God came to visit Adam and Eve one day, they hid themselves

The reason? They just had a “fellowship” with the devil!

Instead of having fellowship with God and staying away from satan, they had it the opposite way!

Isn’t that what most people do today?

When we get closer to sin and satan, the presence of God scares us!It is when God gets out of our heart that satan finds his way in. If the word of God is in our heart, it is difficult to sin. If Adam and Eve had kept God’s advice/word strongly in their heart, they would not have eaten the forbidden fruit!

I have hidden your word in my heart that I might not sin against you. (Ps 119, NIV)

Our love and fear for God is what should keep us away from sin; not fear of man!

But what we see is the opposite! We are more afraid of “being caught” than sinning!

When Adam and Eve sinned, what satan told them came true! Their natural eyes opened! God had told them they would die, but they did not physically die!

This is where satan takes advantage. He tells us the “advantages” of sin, and they may be true as well. For example, satan  tells us different (wrong) ways to make money and the “advantages” of having “wrong” money, but does not tell us the disadvantages

Adam and Eve never thought of the loss they were going to suffer because of disobeying God. They would have blamed God: “Had God told us that all these would happen, and that we would be cast out of Eden, we would not have sinned!”

Sin has a huge cost/price tag attached to it

As dead flies cause even a bottle of perfume to stink, so a little foolishness spoils great wisdom and honor. (Eccl 10:1, NLT)

Many churches today keep silence on sin, but the Bible does not!

The coming of the Lord is very near. May be we don’t feel God speaking very powerfully about it in our heart, and satan will do everything possible to make us forget that. But if we open our eyes and look,  we can see strong signs of His coming around us, as written in God’s word!

It is not worth, missing His coming. When Jesus comes and goes, it will be revealed,  who was real and who was not!

Have a blessed day! As each day passes by, we get closer to His coming!

Prayer: Lord Jesus, thank you for loving me so much! I admit that I have often loved the world and satan than your word, and I am sorry for that. Give me Lord, a true picture of sin and hell, and a true picture of your coming. Amen

When we forget God and His word, “God of this world” will become our best friend!
