The fear about fear!

Welcome!

Passage: Psalm 46 (NIV & AMP)

The fear about fear!

4 There is a river whose streams make glad the city of God, the holy habitation of the Most High. 5 God is in the midst of her; she shall not be moved; God will help her when morning dawns. 6 The nations rage, the kingdoms totter; he utters his voice, the earth melts. 7 The Lord of hosts is with us; the God of Jacob is our fortress. Selah (Ps 46, NIV)

If God is with us and He is our fortress, we shall not fear!

There was a certain grandma, who was once reading psa;m 46 to her grand kids. Suddenly, they heard some noise outside and she was really scared

So, one of the kids asked her” “grandma, what happened? Why are you so scared? Didn’t you just tell us not to be scared?”

She was like: “No, I am not scared; I am not……….”

Then the child replied: “Not only that you are scared; you are also lying now”

On top of the list of all fears we have, is the fear to admit that we have fear

And, as long as we don’t admit the truth to God, God can’t do anything about it

The reason we don’t get answers to many of our questions and problems, is the same reason; we never admit/confess our problem to God

Other day, I was in a certain place where I saw this writing; “You come here with questions; go back with answers”

That is what happens when we sincerely go to God in prayer

But what often happens is that we go to God with answers and get up with a lot of questions. We try to educate God, telling the faults of others and not even allowing God to speak. So, we have more questions after prayer, than before!

Paul had a question about a certain “thorn in the flesh”; he got answer to that, in prayer. God told him that there was a certain reason God allowed it

In the psalms, we see psalmist asking God questions like “how long, God?”

Gideon asked a question to God: “If God is with us, why all these things happen to us?” The answer from God was an action/step that God wanted Gideon to take!

In the verses above, we read: “7 The Lord of hosts is with us; the God of Jacob is our fortress.” They had seen how the earth opened and swallowed the people who rebelled to God (Num 16:32). But they knew for sure that God was with them, for their hearts and hands were clean; they had not done injustice to anybody!

We see so many people doing so many things while claiming that God is on their side. If God is with us, give God a chance to prove it!

Its not by man’s strength or might, but by God’s spirit that victory comes

Have a blessed day!

Prayer: Lord Jesus, thank you for your promise that you will be with all the time. Help me to find out anything in me that keeps you away. I admit that I have a lot of fears that no one knows,  and ask that you deliver me from all of that. Amen

A dog that barks and a snake that bites have one thing in common; fear!
