Who’s “smart” are you?

Welcome!

Passage: Psalm 46 (NIV & AMP)

Who’s “smart” are you?

1 God is our Refuge and Strength [mighty and impenetrable to temptation], a very present and well-proved help in trouble. 2 Therefore we will not fear, though the earth should change and though the mountains be shaken into the midst of the seas, 3 Though its waters roar and foam, though the mountains tremble at its swelling and tumult. Selah [pause, and calmly think of that]! (Ps 46, AMP)

Who’s smart are you? God’s, or the world’s?

We can’t be smart infront of God and the world at the same time

Most of us are so afraid of the world that we tend to be smart infront of the world, than for God

Fear is a choice, and so is faith; you can choose to have fear (which comes from the devil) or faith (which comes from God)

Other than the normal types of fear like fear about someone going around and shooting people or fear about travelling in an air-plane, there is also the kind of fear about being bold for God. “If I share my mind, the other person may not like it; their view is slightly different from mine; so, I better keep quiet and act smart”

On the day of judgement, God will also act smart on behalf of such people!

The other day, I got some time to talk to a person, who believes that Father God is everything and Jesus is not that great!

I used the little time I got, to share what Jesus said “he who has seen me has seen the father”. When they take the freedom to share all that they believe and we keep quiet, we put Jesus down!

God the father has given Jesus the name above all names.

So, disrespecting Jesus is disrespecting Father God!

Do we have any refuge or any thing in life other than God, which we have made our fortress? Think about it

Is our job/education/children or even church bigger than God, in our lives?

People aroundJerusalemused to feel proud of the city and the temple

But in doing so, they forgot the very God who made and sustained that city

When we make other things our “god”, God just touches it, so that we will turn to God.

Sons of Korah realized this,  and they went beyond the city of God, to God himself

(4There is a river whose streams make glad the city of God, the holy habitation of the Most High. 5 God is in the midst of her; she shall not be moved; God will help her when morning dawns. Ps 46, ESV)

Unlike most other cities, there was no river surroundingJerusalem

God wanted this city to be different from others; God Himself was in place of it

These days, we see a tendency “to be like them”. God wants us to unique, and to be like God!

Be blessed, and be a blessing!

Prayer: Father God, thank you for your loving care and for Jesus. Forgive me, if I made anything else “god” in my life and for not giving the respect and praise due unto you. Give me the revelation knowledge of you. In Jesus’ name; Amen

When the world calls us “smart”, God may say “shame”!
