We will not fear!

Welcome!

Passage: Psalm 46 (NIV & AMP)

We will not fear!

1 God is our Refuge and Strength [mighty and impenetrable to temptation], a very present and well-proved help in trouble. 2 Therefore we will not fear, though the earth should change and though the mountains be shaken into the midst of the seas, 3 Though its waters roar and foam, though the mountains tremble at its swelling and tumult. Selah [pause, and calmly think of that]! (Ps 46, AMP)

Psalm 46, penned by the sons of Korah, is a psalm familiar to most of us

Like psalm 91, we like psalms of encouragement

The uniqueness of the word of God is that it is very different from simple positive thinking; it is about trusting in God!

People are filled with different kinds of fears: fear about finances,  failure, death, relationships, job, sickness/health, safety, security,……the list is big!

Here, the sons of Korah says: “we will not fear”, not “I will not fear”

That is not easy. In the same house, persons have different degrees of fear

But when they say “we will not fear”, it talks about their individual strength in the Lord, and about the strength of their fellowship

The other day, we were talking to somebody who went through a tragic incident few years back. She told us that the church had been a very strong support, more than a family! Unfortunately, that kind of a unity is very rare these days. Satan has occupied the prime seats in many places and sincere believers have to run around to find a seat. Once they get their seats, they have to “ be still and know ……..”

The importance of fellowship with God, with family and the family of God will be known when someone goes through a difficult situation; we should not forget others, in our good or bad times. Often, it is when everything goes well, that we tend to forget others

When we get “rich” or “strong” in other areas, it becomes difficult to say that God is my refuge and strength. People often make strong friends with money and relationships. But in the midst of real trouble, no one can help like God!

If that is true, why not give God some glory, some praise, and  some of our (God-given) time?

As individuals and as a family, or as a small group of like-minded people, come together to pray, praise, worship and the study of His word!

There is nothing more beautiful and sweeter than that!

And we can say:”God is OUR refuge and strength; a very present help in trouble”

I can say from real life experience, when God really saved me from a deadly sickness and my son from a deadly accident!

I am sure, you have your own stories as well!

Share it and be blessed!

Prayer: Lord Jesus, thank you for your help all this time. Without it, I could not reach this far. You saved me and my family from many accidents and troubles, illnesses and I know that you will do it in the days to come. Thank you; Amen

Make His story known: you will make History!
