We don’t have, because we don’t pray

Welcome!

Today: We don’t have, because we don’t pray

Passage: 2 Peter 1

5So Peter was kept in prison, but the church was earnestly praying to God for him. 6 The night before Herod was to bring him to trial, Peter was sleeping between two soldiers, bound with two chains, and sentries stood guard at the entrance. 7 Suddenly an angel of the Lord appeared and a light
shone in the cell. He struck Peter on the side and woke him up. “Quick, get up!” he said, and the chains fell off Peter’s wrists.  (Acts 12, NIV)- emphasis added

When Elijah was on mount Carmel, he prayed. God sent His fire
and burnt the sacrifice and also the water around the altar (1 Kings 18)

Is the God of Elijah dead? If not, why aren’t we praying the
way we should?

Here, in the verses above, it was Peter who was in Prison

Herod found that it pleased the people when he killed James.
So he is after Peter now

It was not yet God’s time for Peter to get home. He had more
to accomplish

So God made the Church pray and delivered Peter from the
hands of Herod

Today, church is so busy with many things, but prayer

Once we understand the
power of sincere prayer, we can’t stop praying

Prayer is Power. In most cases, we don’t have, because we don’t pray

Many Christians around the world are praying for that Iranian
Pastor, in Jail

At the same time, there are other mass petitions going on in
support of him

It is a matter of debate whether such petitions will do good
or bad, while I agree that actions need to accompany/follow prayer

But I know for sure, that sincere, dedicated prayer works.

If we are struggling with anything in life, we better pray
for it as much as we can, before starting to work on it. Then, God will bless

When we come to the “Jabok” in our life, when we pray for a
basic need like a job or so, say: “God, you have to do it for me. I am not
asking in greed or for a luxury, but this is something I need very badly”. God
will make a STOP for you!

When sincere prayer goes up, God will look at us. We have to
make those changes in ourselves. Get rid of anything we have to. Give to those
we promised.

Most of the time, we want God to change, when it is we who
need the change!

If you don’t know what you need to clear/change, ask God. He
will speak through one way or other. Make sure, you respond promptly

God bless your decision to pray sincerely

Prayer: Lord Jesus, thank you for the provision of prayer,
and for being so personal. You are my only God and you are so personal and
present in all circumstances and situations of my life. Teach us to pray as we
should.Amen
