Today: Double-minded is double-blinded
Passage: James 1
5 If any of you lacks wisdom, he should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to him. 6 But when he asks, he must believe and not doubt, because he who doubts is like a wave of the sea, blown and tossed by the wind. 7 That man should not think he will receive anything from the Lord; 8 he is a double-minded man, unstable in all he does. (James 1, NIV)- emphasis added
Fear, doubt and unbelief are three main enemies of a person
Satan will try to bring them into the heart in various ways
A proper understanding of God and a proper relation to God is the remedy
Doule-mindedness can slow our entire life and can effect everybody in the family/church if the one who leads does not know where they are going
Sometimes we see people going too slow on the road, because they are confused
They don’t know whether they have to make a left turn or a right turn next
So they affect everyone coming behind them. Even accidents can happen
It was better if they had looked into the map or had a GPS so that they would not waste their time and that of others, instead of blaming somebody else
The word of God is our road-map. Holy Spirit is there to help us with turn-by-turn directions
James encourages the believer to ask God, if they need wisdom or guidance
Our admission of what we miss/need is the first step
Writing to Timothy, Paul made the following statement:
7 For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind. (2 Tim 1, NKJV)
When we have the spirit of God in us, we are not to have fear!
Instead, we should have power, love and sound mind
18 There is no fear in love; but perfect love casts out fear, because fear involves torment. (1 john 4, NKJV)
Where there is perfect love, there is no fear, nor doubt or unbelief (1Cor 13)
The antidote for fear, doubt and unbelief is Faith, Hope and Love
The verse above states, “there is torment in fear”
Fear, doubt and unbelief can keep tormenting us. So it is time to get rid
of that double-mindedness in Job, family, church and everywhere else
Submit the matter to God and be involved 100% in what/where you are now
At the right time, God will open new ways

Prayer: Lord Jesus, I admit that I have fear, doubt and unbelief in my
life; help me to overcome those with faith, hope and love. Teach me and everyone
in the family to get rid of all double-mindedness and stay focussed. Amen
