God doesn’t change “jackets”!

Welcome!

Passage:  Psalm 86

Today: God doesn’t change “jackets”!

8 There is none like you among the gods, O Lord, nor are there any works like yours. 9 All the nations you have made shall come and worship before you, O Lord, and shall glorify your name. 10 For you are great and do wondrous things; you alone are God. 11 Teach me your way, O Lord, that I may walk in your truth; unite my heart to fear your name. (Psalm 86, ESV) emphasis added

Any time we read about “gods”, what comes to our mind immediately is “other religions and their gods”; but, what about the many “other gods” that you and I have-that we carry along with us every day, and “worship” every minute?

That could be a long list , from face book to face look; money, people, job, institution/company we work for, our degrees, car,…..the list is endless

Sometimes we get excited when the economy  gets better: the problem with a balloon that rises up into the air is that it looks colorful on the outside but inside is just air and pressure

Many are struggling because it is just “air and pressure” for them, even as people talk “big” on “booming”, etc….!

When we leave God, someone immediately comes to live in-the one who talked with Eve in the garden of Eden; the serpent said their eyes will open, and their earthly eyes did open, as their spiritual eyes went closed. Satan  did not tell them that they were going to loose their “glory” and were going to be expelled from God’s garden for ever; He won’t!

Satan tells you one side of the sin, the so called “bright” side of it, while God tells you of the “dark” side of it; Adam and Eve didn’t have the Bible with them, but we do; God gave it to us so handy on our phones, tablets and tables that we have no excuse!

When we fail to recognize God, God doesn’t force himself on us; that is the devil’s job, and many fall prey to it. God will always be with us and watch us, so that we can just reach up to Him. Even as we run away from Him, He runs after us, knowing that we will get into the some BIG danger, without Him!

It is a matter of great concern that the love and fear for God has left most of our churches-from the pulpit down to the pew

One of the books that really “shook” me in my college days was “why revival tarries” by Leonard Ravenhill. It is a “must read”!

While we get out of church, do we just “flip” our lives like we flip a “double-sided” jacket? God does not look at our “jackets”; He looks at our hearts!

We can have many “coats” with us; people think it is OK to be one person in church and quite another outside; but God does not change His jackets when He is with us in the church, work, and in the party; God wears the same all the time, I believe!

How “great” and “awesome” is God to you? Do you get really excited about God?

One day, we all, every one will stand before God, to settle their accounts with Him!

That includes the President, the Pope and the pauper; no one will be in their “jackets” or “security” around them, while they stand before God; all people will wear the same kind of dress whatever it is (I believe, there is a “dress code” in heaven-a uniform!) praise God for that!

Have a blessed day; fear God as He should be; He is adorable!

Prayer: God, you are awesome; you are great! I have kept you on the side several times, but you never did that to me; teach me your way, in my attitudes, attire and everything, because I belong to you-my heart and my whole. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

God recognizes and rewards us for every goodness in us, but He forgives and forgets the “bad” in us; people often do just the opposite; don’t they?
