Passage: Psalm 103 (NCV)
Today: God is (perfectly) good!
6 The Lord does what is right and fair for all who are wronged by others. 7 He showed his ways to Moses
and his deeds to the people of Israel. 8 The Lord shows mercy and is kind. He does not become angry quickly, and he has great love. 9 He will not always accuse us, and he will not be angry forever. 10 He has not punished us as our sins should be punished; he has not repaid us for the evil we have done. (Psalm 103, NCV)emphasis added
God is good; God alone is good!
We call many things “good”, bad ect based on comparison; but the ultimate good is God. He is not a “mix” of good and bad. He is 100% good. The ultimate Love, the ultimate truth, the ultimate mercy, the ultimate of everything that is good, that is what God is!
17 Every good action and every perfect gift is from God. These good gifts come down from the Creator of the sun, moon, and stars, who does not change like their shifting shadows. 18 God decided to give us life through the word of truth so we might be the most important of all the things he made. (James 1, NCV)-emphasis added
Every real good action, which is perfect goodness, perfect mercy, perfect love, comes from God; the more Godly we are, the more of such things should come from you and me; God gave us life for our inner man through His living word so that we might be the most important of all; the more of the word we take in, the more “important” we become! God is not done with us. He is still working in/on us
We are His workmanship, His handy work; he wants to make the best out of us!
When a good craftsman works on a piece of stone or wood or when a potter works on a lump of clay, it transforms from a shapeless something to a beautiful piece
These days, we hear so much about the art of living, loving, etc. It is like the “art of everything’; someone may even come up with “the art of lying” some day!
There is no artist like God; look at the sky, the nature, the flowers, the stripes on some of the animals; look at yourself! There is no craftsman like God!
God didn’t make a mistake in creating you; did He?
He did everything good; it is all about what we did with the time, talents etc., that God gave us. We still have time to correct our mistakes of the past, if we want to
Let the goodness of God be manifested in our thoughts, words and actions; let our words bless others; let us make the day for people around us, instead of “killing” their day; we are blessed, to become a blessing to others!
4 Also, there must be no evil talk among you, and you must not speak foolishly or tell evil jokes. These things are not right for you. Instead, you should be giving thanks to God.
15 So be very careful how you live. Do not live like those who are not wise, but live wisely. 16 Use every chance you have for doing good, because these are evil times. 17 So do not be foolish but learn what the Lord wants you to do. 18 Do not be drunk with wine, which will ruin you, but be filled with the Spirit. 19 Speak to each other with psalms, hymns, and spiritual songs, singing and making music in your hearts to the Lord. 20 Always give thanks to God the Father for everything, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ. (Eph 5, NCV)-emphasis added
The Bible tells clearly, what we should not speak and what we should speak; God is big into “speaking” – words make or break lives, and the day!
Have a blessed day! speak the (good) word!
Prayer: Almighty God, you are good, and you alone is really good. I am blessed to be yours! I have not been thankful enough and my words were not always good; make my words more like yours, so that they will bring life, not death. In Jesus’ name, Amen
God is 100% God, and is 100% good!
