Passage: Psalm 46, (NIV 84)
Today: God with us, in the war!
7 The Lord Almighty is with us; the God of Jacob is our fortress. Selah 8 Come and see the works of the Lord, the desolations he has brought on the earth. 9 He makes wars cease to the ends of the earth; he breaks the bow and shatters the spear, he burns the shields[b] with fire. 10 “Be still, and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth.” (Psalm 46, NIV 84) emphasis added
In heaven, there is no war. Where there is no war, it is a “heaven”
War is not only among nations. Paul speaks about the various forces that war against us on the inside. So, there is war going on in our inner man
21 So I find this law at work: When I want to do good, evil is right there with me. 22 For in my inner being I delight in God’s law; 23 but I see another law at work in the members of my body, waging war against the law of my mind and making me a prisoner of the law of sin at work within my members. (Rom 7, NIV 84)
Outside of this “personal” war, there is war going on in the family, at work, and in many other areas. The principalities and powers of the world are at war with a true child of God.
10 Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. 11 Put on the full armor of God so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes. 12 For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. (Eph 6, NIV 84)
This is real! There is a real war going on in our lives. The trick of satan is to make it personal. But we must understand that no person on earth is our enemy. The best way to fail the war is to make it between people. We should see the devil’s work through people and fight the devil, not the individual
Instead of trying to ignore the war, we are to fight it-with the weapons of the spirit. Ignoring spiritual warfare is the recipe for failure
If we see the the absence of peace in any situation, war is on. We must get on our knees immediately and address it. When we pray, God will reveal things and stretegies to deal with it. The word of God and truth in our lives are very important for victory. Many people struggle because they still hold on to many habits that are harmful. Transparency and brokenness are keys to victory
When we look at any situation through the eyes of God, we get the true picture
David took on the war with Goliath. If it was you or me, we would ignore it! But David understood the danger/threat if the enemy overcame the people of God. He fought the enemy of His God!
There is an ongoing fight that the enemy has declared against the people of God
We can either ignore it or engage in it. Most people are not even aware of it because the enemy has blinded their eyes. But those whose eyes are open, need to understand and overcome it
Right now, there are wars going on in the world. It may not be in your area or mine, but a war is a war, and the devil enjoys it. Many people loose their lives
We must pray, so that we won’t have to pay!

Prayer: Lord Jesus, thank you for reminding me that I am in a war with the enemy. I see that many people are ignorant or unaware of it. I know you can help me because you overcame the enemy. So help me Lord. Thank you. Amen
