Getting out of Comfort zone

Welcome!

Passage:  Psalm 39 (NIV 84)

Today: Untimely death!

4“Show me, O Lord, my life’s end and the number of my days; let me know how fleeting is my life.
5 You have made my days a mere handbreadth; the span of my years is as nothing before you.
Each man’s life is but a breath. Selah (Psalm 39, NIV 84)-emphasis added

We always hear about “untimely” deaths-deaths that happened at a time when no one expected it!

Such incidents should make us think of the brevity of life

Everyone knows that life on earth must come to an end one day, but no one wants to acknowledge that in the real sense!

I remember reading about a  93 yr old lady who got a college degree. She was focused just on that, and made it!

The other day, while looking into the “health” text book of one of our children, I  noticed that people who care about their health and wellness live longer than those who don’t. It pays to take care of our spirit, soul and body!

Prayer, reading God’s word, sharing with others are things that help live longer and healthy; that is what we read in some of the secular articles/publications

In, Luke 8: 40-47, we read about a woman with the issue of blood. She went to many physicians, no good; finally, she went God. She was healed instantaneously!

She touched the hem of Jesus’ garment; it worked!

She tried to stay unnoticed, after that, but Jesus wanted her to know that Jesus was more than just a healer. He is the savior. Jesus wanted her to have a personal relationship with the Lord, making Him the Lord of her life

There are many who just want one thing from the Lord, and leave. It is the responsibility of the ministers of the gospel to tell people that Jesus is more than a healer; He is the savior! There is nothing wrong in following the model of Jesus. Jesus did not give much publicity to miracles, but He published the gospel!

This woman had to get out of her home and go to where Jesus was

Many of our prayers are like the other people who were pressing around Jesus

They were touching Jesus but nothing happened. Power did not flow from Jesus

If we touch electricity, or fire, we will know it!

Can we really touch Jesus and be the same after that?

(Why) is it that our prayers don’t touch Jesus the way we expect?

May be because we don’t get real close to Him!

We can’t touch someone unless we get closer to that person; we need to get out of our comfort zone and go to Jesus, not the other way!

When we touch Jesus that way, we shall be changed!

May you have a blessed day; cast all your cares upon Jesus!

Prayer: Lord Jesus, sometimes I pray and nothing happens. May be I am following you at a distance and just want some help from you. Help me to get closer to you. Help me take care of my spirit, soul and body, as I should. Thank you Lord; Amen

We can transfer all our burdens to Jesus for free, and be free indeed; we don’t need to get sick, carrying them along!
