Pleasing God vs. pleasing people

Welcome!

Passage:  Psalm 99 (NIV 84) Exodus 32 (NIV 84)

Today: Pleasing God vs. pleasing people

1 The Lord reigns, let the nations tremble; he sits enthroned between the cherubim, let the earth shake.

6 Moses and Aaron were among his priests, Samuel was among those who called on his name;
they called on the Lord and he answered them. (Ps 99, NIV 84)-emphasis added

The Lord our God reigns; He reigns over everything

Those who accept and appreciate this fact,  are only a few!

But one day, the whole earth will accept that; He is Lord not over some, but over all!

The Lord has authority over all our issues and problems; the moment we hand them over to God, he starts working/acting upon it. Just keep thanking and praising!

Until we hear back from Him, we can concentrate on other things

These are the last days-days close to the appearance of the Lord. For those who don’t believe it, see what the scientists are saying about the life-span of the earth

It is important not to get distracted, but to focus on the most important thing(s),  using every second wisely. If you have extra time, pick up the Bible and read!

Moses, Aaron, Samuel were men used by God, and God answered their prayer

But everything did not go well with them; when they messed up, they paid the price!

Aaron was a priest along with Moses; but when Moses went to be with the Lord, Aaron made a golden calf for the people, to worship. He was definitely “under pressure” from the people, but Aaron should not have yielded to that

The moment people asked him for a “god”, he should have asked God, what to do!

Now, people knew Aaron; they knew, they could “take Aaron in their hands”!

There are many leaders today, who keep quiet when people do that which is wrong. They are afraid that they will be “at a loss”, if they stand for the truth!

When questioned about it, Aaron gave a funny answer/excuse. But the wrath of God came down in the form of a plague, even though Moses had took some actions

21 He said to Aaron, “What did these people do to you, that you led them into such great sin?” 22 “Do not be angry, my lord,” Aaron answered. “You know how prone these people are to evil. 23 They said to me, ‘Make us gods who will go before us. As for this fellow Moses who brought us up out of Egypt, we don’t know what has happened to him.’ 24 So I told them, ‘Whoever has any gold jewelry, take it off.’ Then they gave me the gold, and I threw it into the fire, and out came this calf!” (Ex 32, NIV 84)-emphasis added

On top of what Aaron did, he also lied to Moses (Read Exodus 32)

“Lie” is a part of the package, for such people; they don’t feel bad about it!

Moses and Joshua were together; the Levites stood with Moses.

Look for those who stand for the Lord and stand with them!

Have a blessed day!

Prayer: Father God, thank you for who you are. You are the one who rules, with justice and truth. You are the Holy God; you deserve to be loved and worshiped, in holiness. Help us to stand for you and not against you. In Jesus’ name; Amen

He who oppresses the poor to increase his wealth and he who gives gifts to the rich—both come to poverty. (Prov 22:16, NIV 84)
