Wings are to fly, not to walk!

Welcome!

Passage:   Isaiah 40 (Amp)

Today: Wings are to fly, not to walk!

29 He gives power to the faint and weary, and to him who has no might He increases strength [causing it to multiply and making it to abound]. 30 Even youths shall faint and be weary, and [selected] young men shall feebly stumble and fall exhausted; 31 But those who wait for the Lord [who expect, look for, and hope in Him] shall change and renew their strength and power; they shall lift their wings and mount up [close to God] as eagles [mount up to the sun]; they shall run and not be weary, they shall walk and not faint or become tired.  (Isaiah 40, Amp) -emphasis added

If someone can fly, they should have wings!

Christian life is compared to a race/fight. In the verses above, we see mention about running, walking and flying

Anything that flies, usually starts from the ground and returns to the ground because the earth is their home

However the soul of a child of God flies up to heaven, to its home

If we have the Holy Spirit in us, who came from heaven, we have the hope of reaching home, reaching heaven. Children of God are citizens of heaven, strangers/aliens on earth

If an airplane has trouble, it is repaired on the earth, not in the air

But when we have troubles, God himself will take care of us, because we belong to God. God owns us and He claims us.

Those who have “wings” always think of flying up, not about walking down here

3 You have been raised to life with Christ. Now set your heart on what is in heaven, where Christ rules at God’s right side.[a] 2 Think about what is up there, not about what is here on earth. (Col 3, CEV)

The wings of faith and hope, driven by love,  empowered by the Holy Spirit and strengthened by the God’s word, will help us fly above the storms and winds of life

May we fix our eyes on Jesus and Jesus alone!

Have a blessed day!

Prayer: Lord Jesus, you are my rock, my salvation, my hope and my goal. Help me to always think of that which is heavenly, and to always do that which pleases you, eating the heavenly manna and drinking from the river of the Holy Spirit. Amen

If we have the heavenly Spirit within, we cannot feel at home on the earth!
