This exceeding power!

Welcome!

Passage:   Isaiah 40 (Amp)

Today: This exceeding power!

29 He gives power to the faint and weary, and to him who has no might He increases strength [causing it to multiply and making it to abound]. 30 Even youths shall faint and be weary, and [selected] young men shall feebly stumble and fall exhausted; 31 But those who wait for the Lord [who expect, look for, and hope in Him] shall change and renew their strength and power; they shall lift their wings and mount up [close to God] as eagles [mount up to the sun]; they shall run and not be weary, they shall walk and not faint or become tired.  (Isaiah 40, Amp) -emphasis added

It is one thing to get strengthened; it is another to keep strong and finish well!

We always hear news about some of the people who worked  so hard for the Lord, and were “called back home”

These people did a good job with their time; they worked hard for the Lord, in various ways

We cannot maintain strength from God, unless we utilize/exercise regularly

Most people/families/churches don’t have a goal in life; many are like the boat with  its engine stopped in the middle of the water, being drifted all over by the winds and waves. It is important to have a goal in life!

Without a goal, there won’t be life in anything. Jesus had a goal; He came to establish His kingdom here-to form the church

He came from heaven to earth, lived among us,  to transform our vision from earthly to heavenly, so that we can mount up on high like eagles, in the power of the Holy Spirit

When Peter and John got this power, they could no longer sit idle, like most of us. They walked outside and found people who badly needed to be ministered unto (Acts 3).  If we are willing to go outside the church and look, we can see many!

We become “incapacitated” when we try to fly within the cage!

How far can an eagle fly within its cage?

8 But the Holy Spirit will come upon you and give you power. Then you will tell everyone about me in Jerusalem, in all Judea, in Samaria, and everywhere in the world.” (Acts 2, CEV)

18 Jesus came to them and said: I have been given all authority in heaven and on earth! 19 Go to the people of all nations and make them my disciples. Baptize them in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, 20 and teach them to do everything I have told you. I will be with you always, even until the end of the world. (Mat 28, CEV)

The eagle is delighted to see the storms that other species are afraid of, because the wind helps it climb to heights, with its wide wings.

It is the winds and storms in the life of a believer that helps them soar to heights! 2 Cor 4:7-12 (NIV 84)

Because of the exceeding power within, they don’t care about the circumstances!

Look at Jesus! Look at Paul, Joseph (in Genesis). They went through very difficult circumstances, but the power within drove them, and helped them overcome all struggles and they did soar to the heights, over the winds and the waves!

They all “finished” their race and got a good reward!

May the spirit of God in us be the driving force, more than anything external!

Have a blessed day!

Prayer: Lord Jesus, thank you for being my hero, my role-model. You have taught me how to overcome the various struggles in life and to move forward, doing what I am supposed to do. Help me to stay focussed and achieve the goal! Amen

If the driving force within is the power of God, we shall keep flying high in the worst of circumstances!
