Get the word and give the word!

Welcome!

Passage:    Gen 41 (NIV)

Get the word and give the word!

46 Joseph was thirty years old when he entered the service of Pharaoh king of Egypt. And Joseph went out from Pharaoh’s presence and traveled throughout Egypt. 47 During the seven years of abundance the land produced plentifully. 48 Joseph collected all the food produced in those seven years of abundance in Egypt and stored it in the cities. In each city he put the food grown in the fields surrounding it. 49 Joseph stored up huge quantities of grain, like the sand of the sea; it was so much that he stopped keeping records because it was beyond measure. (Gen 41, NIV) -emphasis added

When Joseph took charge, Pharaoh could sleep peacefully

Pharaoh knew that Joseph will do it all right and that the people will have enough in the time of famine. Joseph did not just sit in the Palace but he got out of his seat and traveled all over the land. He was 30 years old when he took over the office. He became the provider for food to the people of Egypt

A man with the spirit of God, a man with wisdom and discernment took care of the physical hunger of the people. We can see the “Jesus in Joseph” here

Jesus, full of the Spirit became the provider of the spiritual manna to the people of the land, including the gentiles. Joseph provided for his people also

People came from all over the place looking for Joseph. His name was heard all over. He became the source of hope for the people

Just like Joseph gathered the food, we need to gather the word from God when we have the time. There will be days of spiritual abundance when God will continue speaking to us. What we “record” during that time will help us serve the people. These days, even though there are many preachers, we can see that the quality of preaching/content of the word is coming down. The days of famine of the word of God are here! Many preachers preach their own stuff; people go back empty, from churches as well as meetings, in many cases

God is looking for faithful people full of the Holy Spirit, who will become channels of the word of God, to the world (John 7:37)

Gather as much word in our heart, when we can. It will bless us richly

7 “Be strong and very courageous. Be careful to obey all the law my servant Moses gave you; do not turn from it to the right or to the left, that you may be successful wherever you go. 8 Keep this Book of the Law always on your lips; meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do everything written in it. Then you will be prosperous and successful.(Josh 1, NIV)

May you be rich in the Spirit of God and the word of God, and be a provider of the riches of God to a spiritually poor and needy world (Eph 1:3)

Have a blessed day!

Father God, we thank you for the word-Jesus, and the Holy Spirit. Thank you for giving us yourself and all the spiritual blessings in the heavenly places. Help me to be a channel of your blessings to others. In the name of Jesus, Amen.

As the children of God are being fed with stuff other than the word of God, we have an “army of weak people”,  who struggle to handle/bind the strong man!
