Today: When truth is put aside!
Passage: Amos 3 (NIV 84 & AMP)
14 “On the day I punish Israel for her sins, I will destroy the altars of Bethel; the horns of the altar will be cut off and fall to the ground. 15 I will tear down the winter house along with the summer house; the houses adorned with ivory will be destroyed and the mansions will be demolished, ” declares the Lord. (Amos 3, NIV 1984)-emphasis added
Israel had gone away from the Lord, and they made their own altars of golden calf and lived lives of luxury
They had their summer houses, winter houses and houses made of ivory
Whether in the Old or New testament, prosperity is not always from God
Unless we are sure that our understanding and teaching on material things is not in line with God’s word, we can loose heaven in the end, gaining many things here
In many Christian homes, prayer and worship is replaced by TV and internet and many other things of the world. As life goes on O.K, we can see dead churches where the power and the fear of God, love of God is absent
The “God of this world” has blinded the eyes of the people and the leaders who fail to see the actual dangerous situation of the church
Grace of God works along with the truth of God and His word
One does not cancel the other. If we teach and follow the wrong doctrine, (which looks more attractive, of course) we will be the loosers in the end
Some pentecostals go after the grace of God and say that “anything is O.K” and God will forgive; by the same token, some non-pentecostals use “grace” to say that God will answer prayers for the dead and promote them to heaven!
God does not do anything against the written word-either for pentecostals or non-pentecostals; I wish we got this truth in
12 And I saw the dead, great and small, standing before the throne, and books were opened. Another book was opened, which is the book of life. The dead were judged according to what they had done as recorded in the books. 13 The sea gave up the dead that were in it, and death and Hades gave up the dead that were in them, and each person was judged according to what they had done. 14 Then death and Hades were thrown into the lake of fire. The lake of fire is the second death. 15 Anyone whose name was not found written in the book of life was thrown into the lake of fire. (Rev 12, NIV)
What we read here, is the truth and nothing but the truth
Many “modern” preachers and pastors create their own version and preach and teach accordingly, which draws crowd. But in the end, we all will have to go through the screening. We cannot just drop things off and get into heaven like some people drop certain things at the airport and get into the plane!
May God open our eyes to see the truth of His word, as it is!
Every word we hear, check if it is exactly what the word of God teaches!

Prayer: Lord Jesus, thank you for speaking to me. I now know that I am responsible for following the “wrong gospel”. Help me to really discern the teaching and preaching and be wise so that I will not be fooled in the end. Amen
