Passage: Psalm 78 (NIV)
55 “Where, O death, is your victory? Where, O death, is your sting?”[i] 56 The sting of death is sin, and the power of sin is the law. 57 But thanks be to God! He gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ. 58 Therefore, my dear brothers and sisters, stand firm. Let nothing move you. Always give yourselves fully to the work of the Lord, because you know that your labor in the Lord is not in vain. (1 Cor 15, NIV)
Yesterday, I was attending the wake of a sister who died in her mid ages. It is painful to see such incidents
Death is the enemy of life. The “thief” comes to steal, kill and destroy, but Jesus came to destroy the “thief” which is satan, and his works (John 10:10, 1 John 3:8)
Satan works against anything and everything that is good. He steals health, wealth, peace, joy and evrything good he can. He tries to stop our advancement in the spiritual, emotional, physical and material realm. But through God, through prayer and spiritual warfare, we can to overcome that
Many people accept many of satan’s works as “God’s will”. They accept things way below what God wanted them to have, thinking that is how God wanted them to be. That may not be the case. As a person thinks, so is he/she!
Whenever a person came to Jesus with an issue and put their faith in Him, Jesus immediately healed them. People ofIsraelwere in slavery inEgypt. But when they cried to God sincerely, God brought them out
There is an appointed time of God for everything. At the same time, there are many who continue in the “slavery” just because they don’t pray right
Sometimes, satan makes us lazy and discouraged so that we don’t feel like doing anything. Things may get postponed for weeks/months/years. We need to pray and overcome that “spirit” whether that is us or anybody else in the home
Simply arguing/fighting will not do any good
Of all that we can do with our one life, doing the work of God is the most rewarding experience. I have seen people work hard all their life in their job and not being able to enjoy any of that. But if we invest in God’s work, it is a sure reward. Our labor in the Lord is not in vain
During the vacation time for kids, we can get them to have some good family prayer and Bible study every day
I heard this over the radio one day, about a lady who goes to her childrens’ bed room every day after sending them to school. She kneels by their bed and prays!
5 He decreed statutes for Jacob and established the law in Israel, which he commanded our ancestors
to teach their children, 6 so the next generation would know them, even the children yet to be born,
and they in turn would tell their children.(Ps 78, NIV)
Give our children the best stuff on earth, which is God!

Prayer: Father God, we thank you because you are the author and sustainer of life. Help us to stay close enough to you through prayer and the word so that the enemy cannot destroy us. Thank you for all the blessings. In Jesus’ name, Amen
God gave us His best, because we are His children; that is the best we can give to our children as well!
