Today: The little things that affect us BIG
Passage: Song of Songs 2
15 Catch for us the foxes, the little foxes that ruin the vineyards, our vineyards that are in bloom. (Song of Songs 2, NIV) -emphasis added
The song of songs is a book that depicts the beautiful relationship between a bride and the groom
In the verse above, they speak about the “little foxes“ that could destroy the beautiful relationship
Many relationships have been broken by “little issues”, not big ones!
The little things we ignore, can end in big losses!
Adam suffered the big loss by doing something that looked like a small thing to him. He did not get drunk or do any immoral thing; neither did he murder or steal!
Even though God had warned him about the fruit, Adam probably thought eating a fruit won’t harm him much, just like we think about many things. After all, it was just like a snack, not even a meal!
Achan never thought that stealing few things from the city they subdued, could become such a blow to Israel and would end up in the loss of his own life
Is there anything with us that we are not supposed to keep?
We do many things justifying ourselves: “so and so” is doing it…….!
Little do we know that our blessings are being drained and we are loosing!
When Uzzah tried to save the ark of God by preventing it from falling, he never ever thought that it could end up in his death!
6 When they came to the threshing floor of Nakon, Uzzah reached out and took hold of the ark of God, because the oxen stumbled. 7 The Lord’s anger burned against Uzzah because of his irreverent act; therefore God struck him down, and he died there beside the ark of God. (2 Samuel 6, NIV)
I recall a news about a well known preacher/pastor who got into a trouble when one of his children called Police on some discipline related issue.
Little did that preacher knew such a thing could ever happen to him
Many things are done in churches today, without any fear or respect for God!
We see that fear of God and love of God are missing in the church
And the effect of such things can also be seen, sooner or later
When we do the things of God carelessly, that affects us in a bad way

Prayer: Lord Jesus, forgive me for being slack in doing your things and for neglecting the small things. Help me to be more prayerful and careful about everything-small and big. Amen
When we do our part of His work right, He will do His part of ours right!
