Passage: Daniel 5
14 I have heard that the spirit of the gods is in you and that you have insight, intelligence and outstanding wisdom. (Daniel 5, NIV)-emphasis added
Knowledge is increasing at a pace we can’t even imagine!
Mobile computing, mobile storage (cloud) and so on!
Where is this leading to…? Before you come home with a new gadget, another one is released….!
This is all fulfillment of the prophecy about the end times
4 But you, Daniel, keep this prophecy a secret; seal up the book until the time of the end, when many will rush here and there, and knowledge will increase.”(Daniel 12, NLT)-emphasis added
We can see a “frantic” running around of people, especially those in business; some are running after stocks and shares; some after real estate, because the prices are fluctuating/increasing in many places. Some others are running after gold; many are after the latest computer gadgets. Many people loose a lot of money
There is the wisdom of this world; and then, there is wisdom from God!
The highest form of worldly wisdom cannot grasp the lowest form of divine wisdom. Divine wisdom speaks the truth about the future, which is way beyond what worldly wisdom can grasp
That is why people who know the word are better than those who know the world
When the street side preacher preaches like a fool, he may be telling the truth about the future. He may not have the latest technology; but he knows God. He knows what is going to happen in the future
Wisdom and knowledge of the world is needed; but divine wisdom and knowledge is always superior, which comes through the spirit and the word of God
17 But the wisdom from above is first of all pure. It is also peace loving, gentle at all times, and willing to yield to others. It is full of mercy and good deeds. It shows no favoritism and is always sincere. (James 4, NLT)
Natural wisdom can add pride and prejudice; divine wisdom will make one humble and loving, and a peace-maker
God had given such wisdom to Daniel. With that gift from God, he interpreted the writing on the wall. If we have that wisdom, we can tell others about the writing on the wall-that the end is near and that it is not the time to get frantic about the various things going around; instead, if we choose to sit in God’s presence and read His word, we will do good! This is the truth
One day, while people are still running after technology/real estate/gold and so on, God will suddenly show up. This “tower of Babel” that these tech-heads/wall-street/real(?) estate people are building up, will collapse!
What the poor street-preacher was preaching, will come true!
The answer to your quest-ion is in the “word”, not in the world!

Prayer: Lord Jesus, thank you for being the wisdom of God, for us. I need you, more than anything of this world. The love, peace and wisdom you give is way better than that which the world can give. Thank you for giving that to me. Amen
