Welcome!
Today: Distractions that lead to destruction!
Passage: John 11
40 Then Jesus said, “Did I not tell you that if you believed, you would see the glory of God?” 41 So they took away the stone. Then Jesus looked up and said, “Father, I thank you that you have heard me. 42 I knew that you always hear me, but I said this for the benefit of the people standing here, that they may believe that you sent me.” (John 11, NIV)-emphasis added
When Jesus came to the house of Lazarus, Mary and Martha, there were too many things going on, that could distract Him; yet Jesus focussed on His job
Every day, we hear about road accidents, and many are heart-breaking
Most of them happen because someone was not doing the right thing
Multi-tasking (doing several things at a time) is the last thing we want to do when we are behind the (steering) wheel; it is not worth it, to pay with one’s life
Young people are more prone to do that; over-confidence can be over-costly!
Most accidents that happen in work places/construction sites involve people that are well-experienced, not people “new” to the job!
“Familiarity” makes them less cautious and careless!
“I have done this several times, and nothing bad happened….” is what they think
And, all of a sudden, the “unexpected” happens!
Many accidents happen when family/group go together because the person behind the wheel gets too excited and forgets that he/she is responsible for many lives
When people get too excited behind the “wheel”, when they drive too fast/crack too many jokes/watch something on the phone etc., someone need to stop it!
Recently, when an airplane pilot got distracted on the job, people had to get him down and the co-pilot handled the situation
When the head of a family/church/nation gets “distracted” or mis-directed, that family/church/nation is in trouble.
When David went wrong, a man named Nathan went and told him straight
When a student gets too distracted and takes attention away from studies and God, it can destroy the carrier/future. Someone need to address that
Many a time, people get distracted at work and the productivity is reduced to a fraction. But when they receive the salary, even 1% deficit will be a BIG issue!
We expect lot of things from God and even blame God if we don’t get them
Do we have the right to do so?
Take time to find out all those areas we get distracted and find out how much we are loosing. Our decisions and actions make an impact on others too
Have a great, blessed day. Let it be a much better one!

Prayer: Lord Jesus, thank you for being the role-model for me. You were, and are focused on your duty and achieved the most in such a short time on earth. Help me to say “no” to distractions and get the most out of my life, and for you; Amen
If we don’t get serious about distractions, we may get into serious destruction!
