Today: Doing good means a lot more!
Passage: 1 Peter 2
13 Submit yourselves for the Lord’s sake to every authority instituted among men: whether to the king, as the supreme authority, 14 or to governors, who are sent by him to punish those who do wrong and to commend those who do right. 15 For it is God’s will that by doing good you should silence the ignorant talk of foolish men. 16 Live as free men, but do not use your freedom as a cover-up for evil; live as servants of God. 17 Show proper respect to everyone: Love the brotherhood of believers, fear God, honor the king. (1 Peter 2, NIV 84) –emphasis added
When we continue doing good, it makes God talk, and the foolish ones silent
Many people do wrong things because they don’t have any goal to focus, in life; and for most, doing good is doing something that neither hurts God nor devil
But “the good” that Jesus did was all about destroying the works of the devil
Those who do good, displease the devil
The church is not just a “maintenance program” run by God. It is way more than that. It is a “demolition and building” program. It is also like a hospital, where everything is not “calm and quiet”. You will hear someone crying or weeping; you will hear the noise of new babies. Some people will be jumping with joy, while some others will be taken into the “operating room” where that which is malicious is being removed. It may be little painful, but they will come out clean and healed!
What kind of a place do you expect the church to be?
An all saint’s club of the elite where Holy Spirit is a “stranger” and sinners are not welcome? In most such places, people who can “cover up” their sins in a nice way are welcome! If someone ever confess/repents of a sin, that will be “remembered for ever”, in their honor. That could be one reason we don’t see much confessions or repentance in Church, from top to bottom(!)
I believe, God is not happy with these “maintenance shops” which most people cherish as “church”; God is not happy with those “everything will be O.K” clinics either, where large crowds gather to hear messages that don’t prick anybody. If there is a hospital where they don’t press and clean wounds or do no surgery, but will only “cover-up” your wounds with an “everything will be O.K” bandage, how will it be?
One day, the person might “die”. In church, many are dying spiritually because of this “cover-up” , and no one seems to bother much about it!
Without good discernment, people won’t know that many of these leaders have “their own” agendas, which has nothing to do with God’s. Like the frog that was put in water and then the heat slowly raised, these people won’t know that they are spiritually dying, slow but for sure!
God is like a physician, like an Engineer. Healing, surgery, “heart” transplant, demolition, construction-all are happening in His kingdom
God is raising up a new (generation of) people to do something different, when the old crew gets lazy/tired or un-productive. God never takes a break, until that day!
If we have been comfortable with a spiritual “maintenance” program, it is time to open up your eyes. God called you to destroy the devil’s stuff in people’s lives and to do spiritual “heart transplants”!

Prayer: Lord Jesus, thank you for being so personal with me. I never knew that you have called me with a specific calling, to do something specific in the lives of people. Thank you for making me part of this great process of your kingdom. Amen
