Saved, to be sanctified!

Welcome!

Today: Saved, to be sanctified!

Passage: Titus 2

11 For the grace of God that brings salvation has appeared to all men. 12 It teaches us to say “No” to ungodliness and worldly passions, and to live self-controlled, upright and godly lives in this present age, 13 while we wait for the blessed hope—the glorious appearing of our great God and Savior, Jesus Christ, 14 who gave himself for us to redeem us from all wickedness and to purify for himself a people that are his very own, eager to do what is good. (Titus 2, NIV 84) emphasis added

When we are made God’s children, God’s plan is to transform us to be like Jesus

Each day, there should be some degree of transformation in us along that line

Unless that happens, we can’t make it to His kingdom.

If someone needs to go to moon, they better practice it right here, in simulated situations similar to that in moon..

Many churches today promise different kind of things. Some don’t even speak about sin, whereas some speak only about sin. What is important is how the people are transformed in a christ-ward direction

The other day, I went for a hair-cut and the Barber was hard on me. Instead of just my hair, his “took care” of my skin as well. But as I reached home, my family said that the hair cut looked nice! I was little upset to hear that

But then I was thinking about other times when another Barber was too nice with me and gave me a bad hair cut. Which one is better?

Some churches are too nice, but at the end/coming of Christ, you may not look that “good” in the eyes of God; then all that “too nice” is of no good!

Churches should treat people nice, but should also do the right thing. The word of God cannot be compromised.

The Pastor(s) should be a role-model for the Church, not a model-roll!

If a they have no time to pray and prepare, don’t preach! There are many other professions available. It is better to go to heaven without preaching, than to go to hell after all the pleasing/preaching. See Paul’s advice to Timothy:

1 In the presence of God and of Christ Jesus, who will judge the living and the dead, and in view of his appearing and his kingdom, I give you this charge: 2 Preach the Word; be prepared in season and out of season; correct, rebuke and encourage—with great patience and careful instruction. 3 For the time will come when men will not put up with sound doctrine. Instead, to suit their own desires, they will gather around them a great number of teachers to say what their itching ears want to hear. 4 They will turn their ears away from the truth and turn aside to myths. 5 But you, keep your head in all situations, endure hardship, do the work of an evangelist, discharge all the duties of your ministry. (2 Timothy 4, NIV 84)-emphasis added

“For the time will come (and has come) when men will not put up with sound doctrine”

As churches sprout up like mushrooms, be careful what kind of a church you go to. If you don’t think you are in the right place, pray and move out, instead of staying there are creating problems. You will sin less by moving out, than staying in a place and complaining about it every day. The other option is to continue there, not complaining or grumbling or murmuring about it!

If I am wrong, please correct me

May God bless your way

Prayer: Lord Jesus, you sacrificed your life, your comfort and everything for me. I see that I am not sacrificing anything for you, and that I may not be headed in the right direction. Open my eyes so that I can see what you want from me. Amen
