Get into action, before it’s too late!

Welcome!

Today: Get into action, before it’s too late!

Passage: 1 Peter 1

13 Therefore, prepare your minds for action; be self-controlled; set your hope fully on the grace to be given you when Jesus Christ is revealed. 14 As obedient children, do not conform to the evil desires you had when you lived in ignorance. 15 But just as he who called you is holy, so be holy in all you do; 16 for it is written: “Be holy, because I am holy.”[a] (1 Peter 1, NIV84) –emphasis added

The immediate response of a person to a situation has a great impact on avoiding/allowing certain big tragedies!

Different people respond in different ways. Some jump into action quickly, but some wait for ever!

If a ship sinks in the sea in the middle of the night, many could be be sleeping. Those who love their sleep too much will take time to get up. But those who are very much concious will awake quickly and get into action, saving their lives!

What is the attitude we have, towards life? Are we expecting a life where “nothing bad” will ever happen?

If that is how we live, it will be very difficult for us to survive any bad incidents in life. On the other hand, if we look at life through God’s eyes, we can survive any situation. That is how Job survived the worst kind of situations in life!

Recently, I see various videos of incidents where Christians are being persecuted because of their faith. In rare cases, persecution also happens because of some unwise actions, but in most cases, that is not the case. We have a responsibility to pray for the persecuted, instead of just disregarding it. It is spreading…!

Before His coming, Jesus would like to know who are real and who are fake!

In the verse above, Peter is encouraging the suffering Christians to get into action, instead of getting behind in their Christian work. It is easy to rejoice and be happy, but there is so much to be done! Start with the action of prayer!

On one side, people are playing politics and all kinds of games, while on the other, our own are beaten up and ill-treated. I wish some would come out of those games and politics and do that which God warns them to do!

Peter also encourages self-control. We need God’s grace for that

Our hope is the coming of our Lord Jesus. Many of us are scared about it.

Peter goes on to say: “as obedient children, do not conform to the evil desires….”  The Church is growing in numbers worldwide, and so are the percentage of sinners! Many preachers and pastors are promoting themselves,  instead of God!

Marketing is going on very well, at the expense of the cross and the crucified!

Peter stresses on holiness, which again is scary for most of us

Holiness happens, when we spent more time with the Holy one

God bless you; have a special  day with God

Prayer: Lord Jesus, I pray for the persecuted. I am sorry for being slack in your things and for giving too much emphasis for my things. Help me to get into action, be self-controlled and holy, putting all my hope in your soon coming. Amen
