Jesus paid it all; it’s ours to keep!

Welcome!

Today: Jesus paid it all; it’s ours to keep!

Passage: 1 Peter 1

10 Concerning this salvation, the prophets, who spoke of the grace that was to come to you, searched intently and with the greatest care, 11 trying to find out the time and circumstances to which the Spirit of Christ in them was pointing when he predicted the sufferings of Christ and the glories that would follow. 12 It was revealed to them that they were not serving themselves but you, when they spoke of the things that have now been told you by those who have preached the gospel to you by the Holy Spirit sent from heaven. Even angels long to look into these things. (1 Peter 1, NIV84) –emphasis added

1 We must pay more careful attention, therefore, to what we have heard, so that we do not drift away. 2 For if the message spoken by angels was binding, and every violation and disobedience received its just punishment, 3 how shall we escape if we ignore such a great salvation? This salvation, which was first announced by the Lord, was confirmed to us by those who heard him. (Heb 2, NIV84)- emphasis added

In Heaven, you can see at least two categories- one that of God, and the other the angels who are serving/ministering unto God

When we get to heaven, we will not be in the category of angels, but that of God!

Angels will be serving us!

I have heard many people speaking too much about angels and demons, “my guardian angel” and stuff like that. For whatever reason, I am not too much into it. I just ask the Lord for my protection and provision and He takes care of me!

Our subject today is salvation-which can only come from God. Angels cannot bring us salvation because they are not given that privilege. Man was created by God in His likeness and image. We have the breath of God  in us

That is why God himself stepped down to save us. There was the only one option!

Salvation is God’s free gift. Our responsibility is to keep it, and God will help us to do that.

Can a truly born-again person go back to sin and perish? If God made us His son/daughter, can we ever go to hell?

If we read the book of Hebrews, we see that there is a possibility

First of all, many people who claim to be “born again” are not truly, fully born again- especially those born in Christian homes

26 If we deliberately keep on sinning after we have received the knowledge of the truth, no sacrifice for sins is left, 27 but only a fearful expectation of judgment and of raging fire that will consume the enemies of God.      38 But my righteous one[f] will live by faith. And if he shrinks back, I will not be pleased with him.”[g] 39 But we are not of those who shrink back and are destroyed, but of those who believe and are saved.  (Heb 10, NIV)

God’s gift is eternal and God does not want anyone to loose it. But we have a constant enemy. It is our responsibility to keep fighting the sinful temptations. God will always help

12 Therefore, my dear friends, as you have always obeyed—not only in my presence, but now much more in my absence—continue to work out your salvation with fear and trembling, 13 for it is God who works in you to will and to act according to his good purpose. (Phil 2, NIV)

24 To him who is able to keep you from falling and to present you before his glorious presence without fault and with great joy— 25 to the only God our Savior be glory, majesty, power and authority, through Jesus Christ our Lord, before all ages, now and forevermore! Amen. (Jude 1, NIV)

With God’s help, we can!

Have a blessed day!

Prayer: Lord Jesus, I thank you for the greatest gift of salvation!. I thank and worship you for you alone qualify to do that and that you have become a sacrifice for me. Help me to work it out on a daily basis until I see you in person. Amen

“Salvation is free- because Jesus paid for it in full, through His sacrifice”
