Making Him the LORD of our lives!

Welcome!

Today: Making Him the LORD of our lives!

Passage: Phil 2

5 Your attitude should be the same as that of Christ Jesus: 6 Who, being in very nature[a] God, did not consider equality with God something to be grasped, 7 but made himself nothing, taking the very nature[b] of a servant, being made in human likeness.  (Phil 2, NIV)

All that Christ did, He did it voluntarily. He “emptied” himself of the “secure” position He had in heaven and came down to this “insecure” world

One of the most difficult things in life is  the sacrifice of “emptying” ourselves of all the “pomp and power” we have. Going one step down is more difficult for many, than going through some persecution!

Sometimes people get demoted to lower positions in the job for certain reasons. Many of them quit the job instead of taking a lower rank

Jesus voluntarily left his position in heaven and came down, taking a much lower position. Think in real terms!

We sometimes go to certain remote parts of India/Africa just for a few days. Jesus came down here and lived here, loved us to death!

His love was true and real. It just not end with a smile or a “Hi”

Jesus was (and is) all about “giving” and not about “getting”

For some reason, Christianity today, is mostly doing the opposite. It is mostly about “getting” and very little about “giving”

In the scripture, we see Jesus giving healing, deliverance and even food to the people. We hardly see Jesus receiving anything from anybody. If Jesus ever received something, he returned something much more than that

When Jesus was invited to a wedding feast, he provided them with enough of the “best” wine. When He was invited for a dinner to the house of Simon, a lady who came to Jesus filled the entire house with the aroma/ fragrance of the perfume she brought(Mt 26:6). Simon didn’t have to spend much for perfumes!

Peter allowed Jesus into his boat and Jesus filled Peter’s boat with fish!

Mary and Martha used to  host Jesus in their home. When their only brother Lazarus died, Jesus brought Lazarus back to life

If we ever do something for Jesus, He will return (give back) the best!

The best we can offer, is ourselves. If we make Him the real Lord of our lives, it is one of the best things we can do. But accepting Jesus as the real LORD of our lives is a painful process. We have not felt that “pain” yet because most of us haven’t made Jesus the real Lord of our lives yet, even though we usually say, “Jesus is my Lord and savior”

God willing, we will be focussing on the person of Jesus this week

Have a blessed day!

Prayer: Lord Jesus, thank you for loving me and emptying yourself for me. Help me to do your will in each and evry aspect of my life. Not my will, but thy
will be done. Help me to focus more on you and learn from you each day. Amen

“If Jesus had not come down, we would have no hope of going up”
