What a father we have, in God!

Welcome!

Today: What a father we have, in God!

Passage: Joshua 3 (NIV)

9 So Joshua said to the children of Israel, “Come here, and hear the words of the LORD your God.” 10 And Joshua said, “By this you shall know that the living God is among you, and that He will without fail drive out from before you the Canaanites and the Hittites and the Hivites and the Perizzites and the Girgashites and the
Amorites and the Jebusites:  (Joshua 3, NIV)- emphasis added

The life of a child of God is a journey, not a settlement

Many a time, our vision is so narrow, and we are too much focused on earthly things. But God wants us to keep moving, focused on the promise land

Having a home of their own is everybody’s dream

The other day, I read the story of a young man who wanted to have his own home. His father was a very hard working man, doing all kinds of handyman jobs in construction. It was the lifetime dream of this father to have a home of his own, but he could never afford it.

As this son was married and was about 35 yrs old, he wanted to have his own home. He told the dream to his dad, but the dad discouraged at that point

However, the son went ahead. He got the loans and started, but 3/4th the way the money was finished. He needed some 3000 dollars to settle a contractor

He went to his dad for a loan. His dad, who was now about 65 and had cancer, gave him a check for 5000, as a gift. The boy couldn’t control his tears!

Half sleeping and half awake in his unfinished house, early next morning, he saw a truck outside. It was none other than his own father, with all kinds of tools!

This “old man” helped finish the house.

Many a time, we feel, we can run things without the help of our heavenly father. So we run ahead of Him, doing things our own way. But even then, he comes after us and helps us in our tasks. He will drive our enemies out

We better listen to Him, His word. Many people, families and churches are powerless, because much work is done as the people want it, not as God wants it

We better involve God in our personal, family and church life

It may not look that nice to do that, but the end will be much better

God bless your day

Prayer: Father God, thank you for being with me in all that I do, even when I do not recognize or acknowledge you. Thank you Lord, for all the people who helped me to become who I am today. Help me to be thankful to all. In Jesus name, Amen.

God never takes credit for helping us; that is one reason we call Him “Father”
