Leaving a good legacy behind

Welcome!

Today: Leaving a good legacy behind

Passage: 2 Tim 4

7 I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. 8 Now there is in store for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will award to me on that day—and not only to me, but also to all who have longed for his appearing. (2 Tim 4, NIV)-emphasis added

It is not only by life, but even by death, a child of God touches many lives!

The death of Jesus touched many lives, and is even touching lives now, because He lived like He should

Many famous people, many inventors and business entrepreneurs die. People will talk about them for a few days and then forget. Their lives don’t continue impacting that many people afterwards. Jesus is different!

The life and death of Jesus, His resurrection, continues to change lives every day, for good!

Who else can give us HOPE like Jesus?

The hope we have in Jesus is further reinforced by the fact that Jesus overcame death.

We are not competing with others like the people of the world do; instead, we try to run our race in a way that pleases and glorifies God

Our very life is a testimony, an offering, a worship for God (Rom 12: 1-2)

When people have this hope, they run their lives carefully, fight their spiritual battles with confidence and keep their faith strong, to the end. They keep their torches up and shining

And as they finish their race, handing the torch over to their master, they will receive a crown that will never fade or Perish

What a glorious hope!

People who are the least selfish, leave the best legacy behind

Be thankful for these men and women of God who leave a great legacy behind!

Live blessed!
