Let go and let God take it over!

Welcome!

Today: Let go and let God take it over!

Passage: Col 2

13 When you were dead in your sins and in the uncircumcision of your sinful nature,[b] God made you[c] alive with Christ. He forgave us all our sins, 14 having canceled the written code, with its regulations, that was against us and that stood opposed to us; he took it away, nailing it to the cross. 15 And having disarmed the powers and authorities, he made a public spectacle of them, triumphing over them by the cross.[d] (Col 2, NIV)- emphasis added

God whom we serve, is a personal God. He is not the one whom we just go and worship, and come back. He wants to be our friend and father God is interested in our well being, our blessings, primarily in the spiritual area and then in everything else (Eph 1:3, 3 John 2)

We are not after blessings, but we are after the one who is the source of all blessings.

Devil is a deceiver. He wants to kill, steal and destroy. But people still want to be friend with the devil (?), whereas Jesus came to give us life and that too in abundance! (John 10:10)

10 This is what the LORD says: “When seventy years are completed for Babylon, I will come to you and fulfill my gracious promise to bring you back to this place. 11 For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. (Jer 29, NIV)

God disciplined Israel when they sinned. God let them go to captivity. But God is still a loving father. His heart aches when His own suffer. His plan is not to leave His children there always, but to bring them back into a blessed life

In the verses from Colossians 2, we read that God made us alive, when we were dead in our sins because of satan

Satan made a writing against us. He still does that. He wants a writing against our good name, our spiritual and other blessings and against our faith, job, children and evrything else we have. He wants to write the worst against us

But God is not simply sitting there. He is working 24/7, watching/monitoring

On the cross, Jesus reversed the writing aginst us and put it against the one who wrote against us. That was not the end of story. Jesus disarmed satan with his powers and made satan a public spectacle, on the cross

Like a father who “takes care” of a snake or something that comes to attack his child, God is asking us, “Is that enough I have done for you?”

Like the child now triumphing that his/her dad defeated that which was making them scary, we have a reason to triumph. Jesus took care of our enemy!

If satan has written/done something against you, leave it to God. We don’t need to keep working on it anymore.  Let God handle it for us

Have a blessed day.
