When God orders “U” turns!

Welcome!

Today: When God orders “U” turns!

Passage:
1 Kings 19, NIV

15 The LORD said to him, “Go back the way you came, and go to
the Desert of Damascus. When you get there, anoint Hazael king over Aram. 16
Also, anoint Jehu son of Nimshi king over Israel, and anoint Elisha son of
Shaphat from Abel Meholah to succeed you as prophet.. (1 Kings 19, NIV)

When God told Elijah to go back the way he came, Elijah
obeyed.

Elijah knew that he came all this way to Horeb on his own,
not because God told him to go to Horeb. God only told him he had a long
journey

Anybody seeing him in Horeb-the montain of God will think
that Elijah is in the right place at the right time. We look at certain people
in certain positons/ministry and think that God put them there; not
neccessarily

When a “man of God” knows that they came a long way on their
own and that they are in the wrong place, it is better to make a “U” turn and
go back

When Joseph and Mary missed Jesus in the temple, Jesus knew
very well that they had gone a long way, and were looking for him. But Jesus only
stayed where He was. That was a hard lesson for Joseph and Mary, walking back
three days!

Sometimes, God gives us some hard lessons, for a reason

Every training God gives, has a purpose. We may ask “why”
sometimes, but later we will say “wow”! Thank God for that…

When Gods puts us through some hard situations, it may be for
two reasons:

  1. It may be because we are going in the wrong direction
  2. It may be because He wants us to be well equipped for something else-for
    His name to be glorified!

It is our duty to find it out

Need to make a “U” turn somewhere?

God bless you in your efforts

Prayer: Lord Jesus, thank you for guiding me in my life. Please
open my eyes and show me if I am going in the right direction or not. If I am
not, give me the humility ot accept my fault, correct it and come to the right
place. Amen

“When God trains us, He does it for a reason, and for our
benefit”
