Passage: Eph 4
17 So I tell you this, and insist on it in the Lord, that you must no longer live as the Gentiles do, in the futility of their thinking. 18 They are darkened in their understanding and separated from the life of God because of the ignorance that is in them due to the hardening of their hearts. 19 Having lost all sensitivity, they have given themselves over to sensuality so as to indulge in every kind of impurity, and they are full of greed. One of the areas from where we hear bad news these days, is about (failing) marriages. It is on the increase, whether you agree or not.
Anything that God created/initiated will face the most challenges in the world
God created the universe as well as the first man and woman. In our schools and colleges, they teach the opposite of what Bible says-evolution!
Since God made family and the Church, they both became targets of satan
When we look at the root causes of failures in marriages, lack of pre-marital conversation about the goals/vision in life could be one of the top reasons for failure. If one is going northward and the other southward, it becomes difficult to pull along!
When parents force their daughter/son be married to somebody they want and then say “God joined”, they need to be careful
I know many cases where parents wanted their children to be married, against their own wish/will. In some cases, the girl/boy dared to tell the truth to the (new) spouse on the very first day; in many cases, they don’t!
When tension builds up within the home, there needs to be some way to vent it out, or it will burst; same is true in the individual life as well as Church
There has to be the involvement of spiritual, mature and compassionate people, to help struggling marriages. But in most cases, no one involves, because of the fear of various risks and the lack of confidence in themselves!
On the other hand, there is the devil who wants to break relationships
Pray and act upon this urgent need. We need to acknowledge the facts and face the truths. When Church does not do what it should, it will become weak; stronger families make a strong Church, a strong community and a strong nation!
