Controlled by Christ, for a purpose

Welcome!

Today: Controlled by Christ, for a purpose

Passage: Eph 4

17 So I tell you this, and insist on it in the Lord, that you must no longer live as the Gentiles do, in the futility of their thinking. 18 They are darkened in their understanding and separated from the life of God because of the ignorance that is in them due to the hardening of their hearts. 19 Having lost all sensitivity, they have given themselves over to sensuality so as to indulge in every kind of impurity, and they are full of greed. (Eph 4, NIV)-emphasis added

I remember visiting the NASA space center in Houston. We were admired by the fact of people controlling the satellites in space, sitting here on earth

If the control is lost, those satellites are “lost” and the “purpose” is lost!

When a person is united with Christ, Christ becomes their head and the whole administration is taken over by Christ

But when not connected with Christ, people become their own god and they live according to what their mind says.; they live in the futility of their minds.

If we call Jesus as our Lord and savior, we cannot be the Lord of our own life!

20 I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The life I live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me. (Gal 2, NIV)

Speaking the truth (in love), we don’t seek God’s will in most of the things we do

When we want to buy a house/car or we apply for a job, we don’t really ask God, if that is God’s will or not. Usually, we go after the one our heart goes after, and then ask God to help us get it!

Once we make Jesus the Lord of our lives, we must understand that He has a plan for each and every area of our life, which is the best for us

God had a plan for Abraham, Jacob and Joseph. When they went through trials and tests, they probably didn’t know that, but then God finally brought them to the right place. If they had jumped out of the kiln, they would never have been so blessed in the end. They stayed the course and came out fully blessed!

In life as well as ministry, it is important to stay under the mighty hand of God, and wait until it is God’s time. He will lift us up at His (right) time

When God wants us to make a move from one position/place to another, do it

Paul also warns in the verses above, not to loose our sensitivity to God!

Once we make sin a habit, we can easily loose our sensitivity and become so “used” to sin, and will justify ourselves, saying: “everybody else is doing it, why not me?”

That is the viewpoint of the world. The view of a child of God is based on God and His word.  17 So I tell you this, and insist on it in the Lord, that you must no longer live as the Gentiles do, in the futility of their thinking. (Eph 4:17, NIV-emphasis added) Ref: Rom 12: 1-2

If we live under God’s control, we will finally end in God

If our own thoughts guide us, we end up elsewhere, not in God

God bless your day!

Prayer: Lord Jesus, thank you for being the best person ever, whom I can trust with my life. I hand over the keys of my life to you as you have given me the keys to heaven, when I became yours and you became mine. Amen.
