More than a mother!

Welcome!

Today: More than a mother!

Passage: Eph 2, Prov 9

4 But because of his great love for us, God, who is rich in mercy, 5 made us alive with Christ even when we were dead in transgressions—it is by grace you have been saved. 6 And God raised us up with Christ and seated us with him in the heavenly realms in Christ Jesus, 7 in order that in the coming ages he might show the incomparable riches of his grace, expressed in his kindness to us in Christ Jesus. (Eph 2, NIV 84)-emphasis added

“Talk to God about your children; talk to your children about God”

That was what I saw on a sign board outside a church. Makes sense

Most of the time, the “talking” is left to someone else. We may talk about many other things to our children, but very little, about God

It is true that they get a lot of information from church as well as Sunday school. But it is important that they hear from the parents, about God

The love of a mother is probably the best example for true love, that we can find in the world

But God’s love for us exceeds that! Jesus gave up His life, so that we may have life!

We need to make sure that our own have a personal, direct relationship with God

Children watch us so closely. So, our lives are very important

The reason why many messages are not creating the expected impact on others is because our lives speak louder than our words/messages

When children grow up, a possible “gap” also grows up. They can get “disconnected” from the home and get “connected” with their friends

That is when it is important to pray for them and talk to them.

Children need more than just prayers; they need our tears. We must cry to God about them

We never forget those instances when our parents talked to us about God

In the verses above, we see the love of God, like a father’s love, showered upon us. God not only saved us through Christ, but also seated us with Christ, in the heavenlies. God wants to continue showering His grace upon our lives

We were included in Jesus, when He was crucified, buried and resurrected

My name, your name-He carried it on the cross. The names of all the people in the world were signed on to His body. Salvation is available to all who confess Jesus as savior and Lord. Through baptism, we identify with the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus.

God loved us first. Now it is our turn, to show that love to others

God bless you

Prayer: Father God, thank you for your love and grace upon me. Thank you for Jesus Christ and His sacrifice. Help me to share/spread your love in and through me, to others around me. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Proverbs 9 (verses from NIV 84)

10 “The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom, and knowledge of the Holy One is understanding.
11 For through me your days will be many, and years will be added to your life.
12 If you are wise, your wisdom will reward you; if you are a mocker, you alone will suffer.”
