Welcome!
Today: The Spirit of sonship!
Passage: Gal 4, Prov 27
6 Because you are sons, God sent the Spirit of his Son into our hearts, the Spirit who calls out, “Abba,[a] Father.” 7 So you are no longer a slave, but a son; and since you are a son, God has made you also an heir. (Gal 4, NIV 84)
It is a privilege, to be the son/daughter of somebody
Children have the rights/ privileges no one else has!
In India, there are some landlords who have plenty of land, and some of them decide to give a small piece of land with/without a small house to their most faithful worker/servant
Now, a ceratain son of the landlord may not like it and may complain about it
That son may be unaware that he has inheritance in the big estate, whereas that servant’s rights /ownership is limited to that five cents or so
Sometimes, we are ignorant of the rights and privileges we have, through Christ!
God has made us heirs of all that He has, and co-heirs with Jesus Christ
We have great authority and powers; we also have an assignment/responsibility
I saw a bumper sticker on a car: “One man made the big difference-JESUS
You too can!” Jesus made us His brothers; we got to do something
The “prodigal son” took his portion, and went away from the fathers’ presence
He wanted father’s property, but not his presence or fellowship
That is what we also do sometimes. We want all we can get from the father, and then walk away! We won’t be back, until we face the next need/problem!
God not only made us His children, but also His priests. He made us Kings. He made us even better: He made us His ambassadors!
God expects us to speak to the world around us, on behalf of Him. He wants us to listen to Him and get the right message out
When we speak with love, truth and faith, life and creative power will manifest
When we speak the words of Jesus, they have great power and life!
In the O.T times, there were slaves as well as servants. A servant is definitely a higher title than a slave. But God made us more than a servant!
A slave would think, “if only I was a servant!” A servant would think, “If only I was a son”; a son would think, “If only I was grown up enough, like my dad!”
As children of God, we should aim at maturing up to the stature of Christ
Slaves/servants do just what(ever) they are told to do; sons find out the need and do it voluntarily. They plan and prepare. They understand and take action!
God bless, as you submit yourself to do His will

Prayer: Lord Jesus, I am sorry for enjoying the blessings of being your child and ignoring the responsibilities. Help me to take responsibility and act. Amen
Proverbs: Proverbs 27 (verses below, from NIV 84)
1 Do not boast about tomorrow, for you do not know what a day may bring forth.
2 Let another praise you, and not your own mouth; someone else, and not your own lips.
5 Better is open rebuke than hidden love.
6 Wounds from a friend can be trusted, but an enemy multiplies kisses.
23 Be sure you know the condition of your flocks, give careful attention to your herds;
24 for riches do not endure forever, and a crown is not secure for all generations.
