The power of Salvation

Welcome!

Today: The power of Salvation

Passage: Ephesians 1, Prov 26

13 And you also were included in Christ when you heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation. Having believed, you were marked in him with a seal, the promised Holy Spirit, 14 who is a deposit guaranteeing our inheritance until the redemption of those who are God’s possession — to the praise of his glory. (Ephesians 1, NIV 84)

Faith comes by hearing, and hearing, by the word of God

We were included in Christ, as we listened/responded to the gospel

Words are powerful; they can heal or hurt; they can build or break

Words can bring life or death; they can create or crush

The words of Jesus brought life to the dead; health and healing to the sick

It is important to speak, and speak what is right

Jesus came to speak the word of God; He became the messenger of good news

God is the creator and the sustainer; God holds everything in its place, by His word. We cannot exist, without God. He is our life.

The life of God is in His word; through Jesus, God revealed His heart to us

When we are truly connected with God, we cannot avoid prayer and the word of God; Prayer is the breath and the word, the soul food; it is the milk

For those who confessed Jesus Christ as their savior and as the Lord/owner of their life, God was pleased to give the Holy Spirit to guide and counsel them

God takes that responsibility; God promises His continued support for His children, 24/7. God does not sleep, nor slumber (Psalm 121)

Salvation of our soul can come only from our creator. No one can duplicate it!

The grave of Jesus is empty, unlike that of many others. Jesus conquered death!

We are the sons (not slaves), of God; so we have our part/responsibility in guarding this great salvation, that God gave us at the expense of Jesus Christ

4 It is impossible for those who have once been enlightened, who have tasted the heavenly gift, who have shared in the Holy Spirit, 5 who have tasted the goodness of the word of God and the powers of the coming age, 6 if they fall away, to be brought back to repentance, because[b] to their loss they are crucifying the Son of God all over again and subjecting him to public disgrace. (Heb 6, NIV 84)

We don’t have to live in fear, if we will loose our salvation or not

Sins that we don’t count as sin and not confessed, can take us away from God

Thank God for His willingness to step down, and save us. He came all the way down, from heaven; can’t we step down a little bit?

God bless your day

BG

Prayer: Thank the Lord for His Grace and mercy to save us and to help us live a victorious Christian life

Proverbs: Proverb 26 (verses from NIV 84)

2 Like a fluttering sparrow or a darting swallow, an undeserved curse does not come to rest.

12 Do you see a man wise in his own eyes? There is more hope for a fool than for him.

20 Without wood a fire goes out; without gossip a quarrel dies down.

24 A malicious man disguises himself with his lips, but in his heart he harbors deceit.
27 If a man digs a pit, he will fall into it; if a man rolls a stone, it will roll back on him.
