Find out what pleases the Lord!

Welcome!

Today: Find out what pleases the Lord (and just do it!)

Passage: Ephesians 5, Jonah 1

8 For you were once darkness, but now you are light in the Lord. Live as children of light 9 (for the fruit of the light consists in all goodness, righteousness and truth) 10 and find out what pleases the Lord. (Ephesians 5, NIV) – emphasis added

In the beginning chapters of the Bible, we see conflicts between people

Cain displeased God with his worship

Adam displeased God with his very life, by disobeying God

In both cases, they turned against people, after that. Cain turned against his own brother. Adam ended up blaming his wife!

When Jonah disobeyed God in ministry, he became a trouble-maker to all the people who were in the ship to Tarshish!

Whether it is worship, life or ministry, we get into conflicts with people when we displease/disobey God.

On the other hand, Apostle Paul became a source of great hope of saving the lives of people, when he was once taken captive in a ship, because of the gospel

Paul encouraged the people when the ship broke. He became a great help for them- to the extent of saving the lives of all, because of his faith and prayer

If we will choose what pleases God, we will not become a burden to others; instead, we will become a blessing. Abraham is one example for both!

Let us not be bothered about what others will think of us, but about what God will think of us

When God called Jonah for Nineveh, he might have shared it with some friends

They might have asked him; “Jonah, are you crazy? Why not go to some place like Tarshish, instead? God called you for ministry, so just do the ministry!”

When Jonah was in the fish-belly, no one was with him, except the very God whom he disobeyed!

God will not leave us alone, even as we run away from His will

Let us find out what pleases God, than people around us

God bless your day

Lord Jesus, I thank you for your continued presence with me at all times-even as I run away from you. I am sorry Lord, for all the times I disobeyed you. Help me to seek and find what pleases you, and stick to it. Amen

“When we please God, He makes us a blessing to many; when we displease God, the opposite happens”
