Today: Be filled with the Spirit, Speak and Sing
Passage: Eph 5, NIV
18 Do not get drunk on wine, which leads to debauchery. Instead, be filled with the Spirit. 19 Speak to one another with psalms, hymns and spiritual songs. Sing and make music in your heart to the Lord, 20 always giving thanks to God the Father for everything, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ. (Eph 5, NIV)-emphasis added
God likes songs and singing. Many people keep their mouths closed in Church/prayer meetings as if God doesn’t like singing
Be filled with the Spirit, Speak to one another, and Sing unto the Lord!
These days, I notice two things people often do: Listening to music all the time, and texting all the time
When you have earphone plugged in for many hours evry day, you can loose your hearing, over a period of
time! Listening to music, not everyone may be good music either!
About Texting: I do agree that texting is better in certain situations where the person is restricted to the use of phone. Too much talking in mobilephones can also cause problems due to radiation. But when people talk less and less and text more and more, there could be other problems. If we totally replace talking with texting, our next generation may not even learn to talk.
The next generation baby in the cradle may “text” to dada and mamma!
In v 19 above, Apostle Paul says, “Speak to each other”. If Paul wqs living in the 21st century, do you think he would have said, “Text to each other”?
Many are even failing in job interviews as a result of too much use of these gadgets and too less speaking. (I heard it in the News.)
Apostle Paul goes on to say: “Sing and make music in your heart, to the Lord”
We must be able to relate to what we are singing. Sometimes people sing songs that does not mean anything to them. Somebody wrote it in real life experience and somebody else is just singing it
Singing for God is as important as prayer. When we sing songs like “I surrender all” or “we don’t want blessings”, make sure we are not lying to God!
Give thanks to God for everything…atleast when God answers our prayer
Let us sing unto the Lord and speak to others, building up realtionships

Prayer: Lord Jesus, thank you for all your wonderful gifts in my life. You are the gretest gift I evr had and I thank you for the same. Help me sing unto you more and speak to others, encouraging and building them up. Amen
