“What are you doing with your time?”

Welcome!

Today: “What are you doing with your time?”

Passage: Eph 5, NIV

15 Be very careful, then, how you live—not as unwise but as wise, 16 making the most of every opportunity, because the days are evil. (Eph 5, NIV)-emphasis added

When we go to a certain place which is unsafe, we will use extra caution

We can avoid certain places. But when the times are bad, we cannot run from one place to another

Wherever we look, whether in the US, Europe, Asia or elsewhere, there is so much of sin and crime

People are so busy, in the pursuit of money

Here, people sometimes go camping. People take a tent with them and all needed food, water, charcoal and firewood, and lamps for night. They sleep in tents, cook food on fire. No other light or fan, no phones or internet. It is somewhat like a pilgrimage, a very humbling experience

It is very refreshing to take a break from the busy life and live without phone and Internet for two or three days. But it is very difficult for those who are “married” to these gadgets like smart phone and internet

We spend a lot of time with these gadgets and internet. That’s why they use the term “married”, in connection with these gadgets. More than spending time with fellow human beings or with God, people (we) like to be with these gadgets or with animals like dogs or cats! (Take a break once in a while)

God has given all people the same amount of hours in a day. Our skill is in planning and utilizing the greatest resource of time, in a wise manner

Jesus never wasted a second. He used each second in a very creative, useful way. Paul invested all his time in God’s kingdom, wisely

These days, as people are confused about “where to invest their time and money for the best returns”, the answer is: invest with God

Do we tell our children about these days and the right use of their time?

If we don’t, who will?

God bless your time

Prayer: Lord Jesus, thank you for the time you have given me. I have wasted a lot of time in life. I pray that you will make me and many others conscious of the importance of time. Amen

“Trust God with best of your time; He will entrust you with his best”
