More than being “simple”

Welcome!

Today: More than being “simple”

Passage: Ephesians 6, Proverbs 14

10 Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. 11 Put on the full armor of God so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes. 12 For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. (Ephesians 6, NIV 84)-emphasis added

A struggle is more than a fight; it is a life and death thing

Apostle Paul rightly used the word, so that you and I may not undermine the seriousness of that struggle

The system of the world is against the system of God

The principles in God’s kingdom are just opposite to that of the world

If we try to mix them, the result will be disastrous!

Jesus told not to mix Caesar’s with God’s

We cannot blame the devil for our faults, like Eve did

Satan will be around, doing his job; we need to know and do our job

When people of God try to get “friendly” with the world systems, they should know that God can only come so far with them. The rest, they are on their own

Jesus made it clear: we cannot serve two masters at the same time

We are advised to be aware of the schemes of the devil (2 Cor 2:11)

Satan uses so called “ministers of God” as angel(s) of light

They look and talk like (real) servants of God; but they have the spirit of antichrist in them

By the time people come to know the real “them”, it may be too late

14 And no wonder, for Satan himself masquerades as an angel of light. 15 It is not surprising, then, if his servants masquerade as servants of righteousness. Their end will be what their actions deserve. (2 Cor 11, NIV 84)-emphasis added

It is important to be discerning than just being sincere; we could be “sincerely wrong” like the many out there

Many years back, a missionary couple came to Mangalore, Karnataka from the U.S. They advised the students who attended their meetings to read two chapters of the Bible every morning: Psalms 91 and Ephesians 6

May not look like a good idea, but it is better to read the Bible, than not doing so-as long as you understand it!

We need to read the word every day and pray, if we should survive. Do more than that, to be victorious!

God bless your day

Prayer: That God may open your eyes to see that which you need to see

Proverbs for today: Proverbs 14 (NIV 84)

15 A simple man believes anything, but a prudent man gives thought to his steps.

18 The simple inherit folly, but the prudent are crowned with knowledge.

34 Righteousness exalts a nation, but sin is a disgrace to any people.
