When Christ rules!

Welcome!

Passage:  Psalm 128

Today: When Christ rules!

22 Wives, submit to your own husbands, as to the Lord. 23 For the husband is the head of the wife even as Christ is the head of the church, his body, and is himself its Savior. 24 Now as the church submits to Christ, so also wives should submit in everything to their husbands. 25 Husbands, love your wives, as Christ loved the church and gave himself up for her  (Eph 5, ESV)

Not all verses in the Bible taste equally sweet to all; while some love all of it, most love at least some of it, I believe

The scripture mentioned above is something that some people disagree with these days; but a real look into the scripture will tell us that the problem is not in the writing, but the reading of it. If read right, it won’t taste bad at all; after all, it is God’s word! Love and respect are like couples; one should not take the other away!

“Head” does not play its role and function unless it is properly attached to the body

Here, the word of God is speaking primarily about a relationship than a responsibility

Once the relationship is intact, the roles and responsibilities will roll into place

So, when the head of the family is properly connected to Christ and the family, there won’t be much problems. If the leadership of the Christian home/church is not properly connected to Christ, there will be problems!

When Christian parents fail to show God to their children, there will be a God-deficiency in them, instead of a God-efficiency

See apostle Paul’s testimony about Timothy:

5 I remember your genuine faith, for you share the faith that first filled your grandmother Lois and your mother, Eunice. And I know that same faith continues strong in you. (2 Tim 1, NLT)

When parents rely on the church to meet all the Godly needs of their children, it may back-fire. Some churches are very careful on that, but most fail to give the children and the youth the spiritual “portions” they need. Eventually, if the children are “lost”, it is the family that suffers more than anyone else.

In the end, more than anything else we give to our children, God matters the most!

A good number of children came up in life and ministry through local churches; but a dangerous trend seen in certain churches these days, is the excessive number of “external/guest” preachers ministering in certain churches

It is good to have good preachers from outside occasionally, but if that becomes an everyday thing, a growing dis-connect will develop within the church and it voids opportunities for people within, to grow in ministry

The growing disconnect of the church/home from Christ, is a “divorce” from God, whatever reasons/justifications we can come up with; God hates that

I often see preachers using the book of Malachi to preach about tithes, but I rarely see preachers preaching the following, from the same book!

15 Didn’t the Lord make you one with your wife? In body and spirit you are his.[b] And what does he want? Godly children from your union. So guard your heart; remain loyal to the wife of your youth. 16 “For I hate divorce!” says the Lord, the God of Israel. “To divorce your wife is to overwhelm her with cruelty,[c]” says the Lord of Heaven’s Armies. “So guard your heart; do not be unfaithful to your wife.” (Malachi 2, NLT)

Have a blessed day!

Prayer: (Lord), 7 Though I walk in the midst of trouble, you preserve my life; you stretch out your hand against the wrath of my enemies, and your right hand delivers me. 8 The Lord will fulfill his purpose for me; your steadfast love, O Lord, endures forever. Do not forsake the work of your hands. (Psalm 138, ESV)

When Christ rules, there will be peace, love and order!
