Treating “Dad” like a stranger?

Welcome!

Passage:  Psalm 103 (NCV)

Today: Treating “dad” like a stranger?

29 Then I said to you, “Do not be terrified; do not be afraid of them. 30 The Lord your God, who is going before you, will fight for you, as he did for you in Egypt, before your very eyes, 31 and in the desert. There you saw how the Lord your God carried you, as a father carries his son, all the way you went until you reached this place  32 In spite of this, you did not trust in the Lord your God, 33 who went ahead of you on your journey, in fire by night and in a cloud by day, to search out places for you to camp and to show you the way you should go. (Deuteronomy 1, NIV 84) emphasis added

When God is ready, willing and able to help us with anything and everything, and when we don’t trust God enough, it hurts God!

We trust anybody coming with “fake” promises and advertisements, than trusting a good friend whom we know for years!

Sometimes, the very people who did great wonders for God, turn their backs on God; some of them fall into the trap of materialism or something else and just forget the giver, falling in love with the gifts!

That is what happened to the Israelites who were in Egypt; just like us, they called upon God and God delivered them, but failed to thank God. Instead, their mouth was filled with just two things: food and complaint; food went in, complaint came out!

Is “complaint” a by-product of the food we eat?

These days we see church as well as nations turn their backs on God, after enjoying divine provisions and protection. The “bill” is on the way, even though it may be delayed a little bit; may be God is waiting to see if we will repent!

Nations like North and South Korea are into “rockets” and stuff; but no one can beat or explain that day, when millions will disappear and the graves open, accidents all over the world, in a split second! That will be the coming of Jesus Christ as King and Lord!

God is not one who always want to scare us with judgments or punishment; God does not even like to talk negative; but unfortunately, there is so much thanklessness, pride and rebellion in us that we force God to mention discipline very often!

When Church chooses to be in the “neutral” gear, it will be affected by every wind and wave; God does not want it to continue like that; God is calling for change!

God says “go” or “move”; don’t stand still!

6 The Lord our God said to us at Horeb, “You have stayed long enough at this mountain. 7 Break camp and advance into the hill country of the Amorites; go to all the neighboring peoples (Deu 1, NIV 84)

It is time to move, for God; as we move, God will move everything around us, and will start blessing us. But if we remain idle, we cannot blame God if He does nothing for us, when the enemy comes!

God treats us like a good father treating His children; how do we treat God?

We better change the way we live; give more time for God!

God’s blessings and peace, as we make the right moves!

Prayer: Father God, thank you! You are such a loving father, to provide us with everything for life, and spared Jesus Christ for us, and now the Holy Spirit, whom we rarely meet! Help me to meet with you more often! In Jesus’ name I pray, Amen

When we say “yes” to the pleasure of sin, we also say “yes” to the penalty of sin!
