Decision(s)!

Welcome!

Passage:   Ephesians 5 (NIV 84)

Today: Decision(s)!

14 Then we will no longer be infants, tossed back and forth by the waves, and blown here and there by every wind of teaching and by the cunning and craftiness of men in their deceitful scheming. 15 Instead, speaking the truth in love, we will in all things grow up into him who is the Head, that is, Christ. (Eph 4, NIV 84)-emphasis added

Decision is important; in fact, our life itself is a bunch of decisions!

If someone has a decision to grow, they will eat; we eat because we have decided to be alive and grow. In the same way, we can feed or starve our soul/spirit

The decision of a person controlled by the devil, to go somewhere and kill innocent people, brought death, shock and fear; on the other hand, the decisions of Godly people to take the good news and good acts to others brought life, love and light, and saved many lives from death, destruction and darkness!

We can allow God or satan to visit our hearts and homes; unless we take a stand , we can easily succomb to the pressure of satan

We may not be good in planning things; but, with God’s help, we can!

The other day, I was talking to a person who planned his kids’ education and expenses some 15 years back, typed it and kept it; the amount came to almost the same, about 1.5 million; got good professional education for three

Jesus was very calculated in each and every move of his; everything was planned

That is how He achieved the maximum success in a minimum period!

He was always connected to the Father and He knew what He was doing

He was committed to finish His main job before He would turn to anything else

When kids come from school, some of them finish all their home work first and then relax; but some try to mix their home work, TV and everything. Nothing much could be accomplished by the latter. It is all about having a goal/focus!

In our evryday life, if we are focussed on some project like writing or studying something, we better make sure that we will use the time dedicated for that task and everything else is secondary, unless important

With the same 24 hours we have, some people bring out great books, and do a lot of good things; but most people have no specific goals once they are “settled”

If we can dedicate an hour evry day for some specific task, or even half an hour, we can achieve so much in life; it is like saving some money from our salary

We can learn a musical instrument, or do some exercise, read the Bible, read good books…. we choose it; it is all about a decision.

10 minutes a sharing/study of God’s word with our family in a day, is 3600 minutes in 360 days; that is 60 hrs of word in a year!

See/calculate how much time is spent on internet/facebook, etc in a year; compare that with the amount of time spend with God!

What is the new year resolution? Make some decisions, and keep them!

May God bless your good decisions!

Prayer: Lord Jesus, I waste a lot of time in a year because I am not focussed and because I don’t have any specific task. I understand that it is a big loss. Help me to allocate specific times for specific things and achieve some things in the coming year. Amen

Good decisions make a person, just like bad decisions break one; but God can turn our mistskes into miracles, if we confess them to God!
